I actually like and respect Kirk. I think he tries to be evenhanded (I know this is a relative term in the media—especially sports media) to us and I’ve always thought his first allegiance is to the integrity of the game. It must also take something to move from your college town because the fans are too unhinged.
But this seems like he’s shilling a little too hard for ESPN and an SEC playoff spot. You guys already have a Finebaum, Kirk. One is enough.

Yes but he forgets where this is the first time he has used the criteria of simply prognosticating who is better by who he thinks would win. What a moron.
As stupid as he is I am sure he didn't think Cincy was better than any power five team with ten wins. But he was fine putting them in two years ago because the season used to matter and winning your games was most important. He's decided that applies to everyone but Alabama now because they are coached by Nick Saban but he won't even acknowledge it in his brain.
He changed his own criteria to fit his own pro Saban bias - just like the rest of the media. Incredible how unself aware so many are.

Herbstreit cracked during Covid. He had a full segment of fake crying where he completely jumped the shark. I have not regarded him as a serious person since then.

This is stupid! Why, fsu should be in, period.
To his point about nobdody being mad when fsu got in over Miami in 2000, bs, a lot of people were mad but that was a vote of teams with 1 loss each. And the debate was who should get in,
2000 Miami 11-1, beat #1 florida state, lost to #15 Washington
2000 Fsu, 11-1 lost to Miami, beat #4 Florida
2000 Washington, 11-1 beat #4 Miami lost to #20 Oregon
That was the debate, what got FSU in, was beating #4 florida the final week of the regular season. Not exactly fair as Miami had defeated #2 va tech just a few weeks before but what have you done for me this week ruled the day.
