Kingston Davis to Sign LOI Thu, Enroll Jan 3
First EE looks set.. smart to get ahead of the competition coming from Walker!
No on a serious note Harbaugh fom all accounts just loves this kid and prioritzed him with an in house visit along with Walker the past 2 weeks. Being a kid fom AL there had been some vague worry about flipping eventually but good to see him stay blue.
Hopefully he is "like Deveon Smith....but faster!".

Hopefully a prelude to good news the next two days on the recruiting front.

The speed we need is BURST. That hyperquick twitch muscle athlete that can see a hole open, before it actually does, make the cut and be through it as soon as it opens. Part instinct, part vision, part feet and a whole lotta quickness.

Drake Johnson had a lot of that before he got hurt. Watch clips of last year's OSU game. Their national championship defense had no answer for him.
*sigh*

I'm an Alum. I believe we have the Michigan High School record score in a football game against Holt. Before my time though.

and not just photoshop. I love his hair and glasses combination here.

It was obviously awhile ago, but there was a video about Roy answering this question. He ended up getting contacts his sophmore (?) year I think. Crazy that it took so long for a WR to get his vision checked when it seems so important for their success.

Part of me thinks that "rugby scrum" run vs BYU, although completely badass, was a precursor for the rest of season.
On a positive note, we get him back next year with most of our line.

So he's set to EE. I think Peters plays on EE. Who else? The guys deciding this week I know are EEs.
December 15th, 2015 at 9:02 PM ^
Brandon Peters, Kingston Davis, Sean McKeon, and Carlo Kemp (according to Mgofish). If they committ, Kareem Walker and Devin Bush have a place as well.

This is great news. Coach Harbaugh really wanted him so I really wanted him for Michigan. EE is icing on the cake.

I'm really excited for him! I know a lot of people suggested that he will grow bigger and turn into a fullback, but I think he can be a great back in his own right. If Walker comes, the two of them could be a lethal 1-2 combo, with a little Peppers and Evans thrown in there. That has potential to be a pretty crowded and dangerous backfield there. Now to just get our OL shored up.

That is good news. Glad he stayed true blue. Hope no one on this board ever forgets that. If Harbaugh and Wheatley see his true potential I am confident that he will be a great back in some capacity. Congrats Kinston and the best of luck to you.

Wanted that to be Derrick Green this year.
Don't want to call Green a bust just yet but what do you call the #1 rated RB out of high school who is now #3 on the depth chart (#4 if you include Peppers)?
He had the same line and coaching as everyone else. Outside of a few decent runs in mop up duty, we haven't seen any improvement out of him yet. It's just sad.

Massive difference in speed and athleticicsm.
Derrick Henry -
6'3", 243lbs
#1 Athlete coming out of HS
11.11 100M
Kingston Davis -
6'1", 225lbs
#1 Fullback (most sites don't rank as RB, those that do put him about #100)
11.7 100M
Derrick Henry HS stats:
11,982 yards
8.6 YPA
153 TD
255 Yards per Game
Kingston Davis:
3,655 yards
7.2 YPA
39 TD
99 Yards per Game
Derrick Henry broke the Florida single game and career rushing records and was the national HS player of the year for goodnes sake.
I think Davis looks like a good player - but Henry was a complete monster coming out of HS.

RB might be the most wide open position next year. Hopefully Isaac and Green realize this and put the work in this offseason. They don't have to be busts, especially Ty.
December 15th, 2015 at 10:43 PM ^
Karan Higdon was our only RB from last year's class and he wasn't really highly regarded or thought enough to start at any point this year.
