He is a very good player. Trace McSorley (Penn State) did not get the fanfare in the DC area that Doyle has... Doyle had (and has) plenty of top offers. If the M Coaching Staff misled him why blame him for taking the high road and moving on?

Obviously would have worked out best if he prepped then came. It's unfortunate because we aren't the favorite for any 2019 qb at this point and QBs generally commit ~1 year before their signing day. Still early though and speaks to the faith Harbaugh has in turning Milton into a stud.

Good move for Doyle. Any decent QB would say no thanks to a prep school year. He can go play somewhere with ease and have a better chance to see the field early. Best move for both parties really.

Let's not forget the origin of Doyle's story with UM. Pep stumbled onto his game on ESPN. Given the dislike for Pep on this board do we really want him hand picking QBs from his couch?

I thought Kevin Doyle was very underrated. I think he should've been ranked a 4 star. His tape is very impressive.

I don't understand the fascination with Milton. He was a 48% passer as a senior and a 47% passer for his career in 3 seasons. He's tall and a has a strong arm. What about accuracy? What about poise? What about mental ability to process defenses quickly and make the correct decision pre-snap and post-snap?

And I can't help but shake my head in disbelief at some of the posters on this board. They didn't want Tyler Shough because he wasn't ranked highly but then Shough ended up being a top-100 player in 247's individual rankings, top-120 in rivals' rankings, and top-150 in the composite. Meanwhile, Milton fell in the rankings.

Doyle seemed like a plug and play player. Maybe he won't be a Baker Mayfield or something, but  I think he could have been a decent QB with little downside (and perhaps not a ton of upside).

If he decommitted because UM staff told him to go to prep school....good for him. IIRC the dude has good grades and that's just shitty.

I do think he must have considered the QB depth with Shea, possibly Wilton, Christian, Peters, and Milton. I think he maybe could have beaten out Milton, but who knows.

Wish him good luck.

If I have one criticism of UM's recruiting strategy it is that we have SO MANY QBs and TEs and honestly WRs. I would prefer more Olinemen (esp since they get hurt frequently) and LBs/DBs. I know Harbaugh likes TEs, but there is NO REASON to have like 8 of them when 2 of them really only play.

Really liked this recruit, was way underrated IMO and should have been a high 4 star.

Did he know we wanted him to go the Prep School route before the early signing period?  If so, why did he let this drag on until now?

After the Swenson fiasco that the staff is trying to be abundantly clear in their expectations.....

I do have to laugh at the posters who will criticize the coaches like Drevno and Pep among others when recruits end up elsewhere......at they end of the day these are 18 year old kids who have egos as big as Texas. They don't know where the hell they want to go sometimes even after they get there.
