Fortunate for him he won't be playing on Sundays then where the fans are 100x worse.  Appreciate his adequate enough performances in wins against teams from Indiana, but definately ready to see what the future holds with Michigan's current group of QBs.

Well, you know what? If he is talking about fans, and players always had their way, Brady Hoke would still be our coach clapping and handing out orange slices. If he's talking about Harbaugh, well, he'd have been riding the bench at Houston or a MAC school instead of here. I don't get it.

Why are we torturing ourselves?   2018 is a new year.  Thank God no more John O'Korn, Wilton Speight or Brandon Peters.  They stunk it up big time in 2018.  This is a new year and thank goodness it does not involve the prior QBs.  Some will say how about Peters?  My answer is he stunk it up so bad in the bowl game he should start looking for a transfer.  DM is going to be the 2-deep guy.

Michigan Stats

104/191 54.5% 1146 YPA 4TD 6 INT

He was the most painful quarterback to watch play at Michigan since 2008.  My wife sent him a nice message on social media when he was getting so much angst from the fan base.  Whatever happened to him at Michigan should not be repeated.  Whether it was by his own doing or some fault of the coaching.  Jemele Hill is click bait.  He should be ashamed of himself if it was directed at either the fans or the coaches.  Both of those groups gave him a shot and he failed.  The stat line speaks well to that and we all witnessed his performance on the field.

If JOK(E) wants us to keep acting delusional and keep believing and telling our rivals everything is fine, then fine, but to call out the whole fanbase after contributing absolutely nothing productive for the squad just shows his legacy is now teeters both on and off the gridiron. I'd sooner invite Frank Clark and Taylor Lewan back to campus then this waste of a Michigan man

Probably mid 40 year old douche bags in his mentions still giving him shit about the Ohio State game even though they never played a snap of football in their lives. Shit would get old after a while.

Why wouldn't JOK be upset with the fan base? Yes his play was... But his biggest interaction with the fans is from Twitter and if you haven't seen how he has been treated there you should take a look. Let's face the fact that the biggest asshats of any fanbase are the ones you hear the loudest on Twitter. If social media was at the level it is today when John Navarre played you better believe he probably would have reacted the same way. Michigan fans treated Navarre like shit and I was no better.

Happens in every fan base and on every message board. Can't even be sure if they are fans, trolls or bots just stirring the pot.

Athletes should avoid social media or not get bothered by trolls and hate mail.

Unfortunate to see O’Korn stirring up twitter drama. The documentary made him seem like a good guy who was just in over his head and his ability, as opposed to Speight who came off a bit whiny and entitled.

Eggzactly this.

Can't believe we are over 4 pages of comments about this.

This is not about how good O'Korn was or wasn't. He played for Michigan and did his best. End of story.

Anyone bashing him just sucks, especially if you do so on Twitter, which is a weak, feckless format for doing so. And...guess what....you have essentially proven his point. Hard to be angry about a tweet that makes a statement that is immediately backed up by a large percentage of the responses.

To fans who justify being assholes to players by employing the "be a big boy, can't stand the heat, not everybody gets a trophy" type arguments, quite simply you are a pathetic excuse for an adult.

I think we have ample evidence by now that booing players or coming down on them for not performing up to your (often unrealistic) expectations doesn't have any motivational effect whatsoever. Quite the opposite. Players who are out there giving it their all that have to listen to the temper tantrums of a bunch of people sitting on their asses watching, instead evokes a "ok, fuck you then" mentality. It drives division between players and fans and makes them label us as "muggles" and whatnot and causes them to care a whole lot less about results.

You'll notice O'Korn said "we" in his tweet. It isn't just him.

I hate getting lumped in with red-faced, screaming, tantrum throwing fans that think they are owed something and vent their toddler like emotions on players who are actually on the field. These are the same people that crow, strut about and act onbnoxiously when M is on top.

If you're going to be there and support the program/players when M is winning (yeah, I know it has been a while), then also be there and support them when they are not, it is a matter of character.

When we do get back on top, act like you have been there.

Yea they hate mgoblog 3.0 lol That must be what he is tweeting about. But its true and there has always been fans like this, the hecklers , the trolls. Social media just gives these types of fans more access to players and teams. But JOKs play sure didnt help him win the hearts of fans.

I never understood how JOK looked so good in practice but looked so below average on the field. May be he was just always nervous on the field. He probably tried his best but never got the good results. I think most fans gave him a fair shake. We were super excited when he transferred from the UH and thought he may beat out Wilton for the 2017 starting spot. Sad to hear he has a grudge against the fans.

i don't know, but i would love to have another chance at osu and msu last year with any other QB.  maybe JOK doesn't like JM for putting him in that position.

The authority of John O'Korn has spoken. I can't believe I thought this guy was capable after Purdue.

Thread Summary:

Unwise interview quote-(Speight) leads to unwise twitters-(Hill and O'Korn and others) lead to poor blog thread lead to unwise blog posts by haters and baiters which equate to a waste of effort? Or a valuable discourse of what racist language is?

Of course this will lead to sports yell program topics galore.  What a way to end a Monday or start a Tuesday!

People still care what is tweeted at them. Maybe JOK just shouldn’t be on twitter if it bothers him so much because it’s going to continue to happen.

It also is another example of how mentally fragile the kid gets. I’m pretty critical of Harbaugh's Offense but I’m most critical making JOK second string. Just another example of why. He never had the mental make up to play QB at a place like Michigan. He didn’t have it at Houston!!
