Jeremiah Caldwell (‘21 top-400 CB from Bellville) decommits from Kentucky

Per the Twitters.

He was recruited to Kentucky by Clinksdale.  So, YIPPEE!

As you can see, children.  Targets that Michigan wants sometimes commit to other schools … and then later decommit.

But sure, go ahead and get your lady parts all sandy whenever a target commits elsewhere several months before signing day anyway.?

All is lost. The linebacker that no one on the board knew about two weeks ago who may or may not start in 2024 went to Baylor. No other linebackers exist in the class of 2022. Oh the humanity.

He is a 2022 recruit, not 2021. The headline is errored. The sentiment for folks crying about recruiting comings and goings, though, is dramatic but spot on.

These are HS kids. They change their minds. Some fans put a lot of stock into what a 17-18 yos whose drama off the field is often dealing with dating and dumping and playing video games means for the state of their college football team's "culture."

I've said it many times, this new staff is recruiting well on defense.  People get hung up on missing on ILB but they're crushing it everywhere else.

I'm hoping we next land Walker and Grant at DT.  But Walker was just offered by Alabama today, so let's hope he wants to stay home.

I don't know that Michigan is crushing it. They are doing good. They have some great players. But the teams that are crushing it are Alabama, Ohio St, Georgia, Clemson, Notre Dame, LSU, Texas A&M, USC, and Oklahoma. But compared to maybe 85% of FBS schools, Michigan is doing great.

Honestly, at DLine it's not going so well. Getting Deone Walker would sure help there a whole lot. It clearly looks like he should be ranked higher than #325 in the Nation. Jordan Whittley was a great pick up. And it will be great if Michigan can get Kenneth Grant, because of his size. But he will be a project.

So Clinkscale brought him to UK because he thought he would be good enough to compete in the SEC but we aren’t interested in bringing him here with the same position coach?

Maurice Linguist did offer him.

But apparently, he has dropped in the rankings. He was a 4 Star before when he was offered.

He was actually a 4-star recruit ranked 217th overall when he initially committed to the Wildcats back in January, but his stock has dropped since then.

I've been doing some searching on why he was dropped down. I don't see anything so far. It's a quiet Sunday. I am not going to keep looking. Though EJ Holland put up an article on June 7 about him possibly flipping to Michigan. The title:
