Jedd Fisch to Washington
January 14th, 2024 at 3:14 PM ^
Why wouldnt Washington’s OC follow Deboer? They’ve been together forever.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:24 PM ^
Because he wanted to stay at UW as the head coach. Now he'll presumably follow DeBoer to Bama, but that wasn't his preference.
January 14th, 2024 at 4:46 PM ^
I had Fisch as my #1 hire if Harbaugh bolts. But I'm more convinced now that Sherrone is him - if we keep Minter and/or Clink & Elston.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:08 PM ^
Damn it..... I was hoping that (activating every good luck trinket in my possession) is the staff goes through a mass exodus from Jim or even Sharone moving on that Jedd would have been an option
January 14th, 2024 at 3:08 PM ^
Might not be legit yet, based on the 'source', but if Jedd is UW's target good on them. He's not likely to bolt a couple years later, whether the team is really good or not. If he continues the success UW historically known for, he's set for life without having to win it all every now and then.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:09 PM ^
Wow. That was fast too. Pretty good hire by UW imho.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:10 PM ^
Thank you so the "smart" UM fans can stop with the Jedd Fisch For HC posts
January 14th, 2024 at 3:37 PM ^
I definitely prefer rolling the dice on a guy who has coached three games and didn't have to do anything during the week than hiring a guy who has turned around one of the hardest schools in the P5 to win at
January 14th, 2024 at 6:21 PM ^
Sherrone is the OL coach and OC and was HC during huge games. WTF you mean he had nothing to do during the week?
Wtf did Lloyd Carr do that earned him a promotion?
January 14th, 2024 at 3:12 PM ^
Now lets go grab arizona’s QB
January 14th, 2024 at 3:17 PM ^
If Jedd does go to UW, the QB is going with him
January 14th, 2024 at 3:13 PM ^
If this is true - Fisch to Washington - then, does a 30 day transfer window open for Arizona players?
The coaching carousel continues.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:15 PM ^
Good get for Washington and the Big Ten
January 14th, 2024 at 3:19 PM ^
I was hoping Michigan would hire him if Harbaugh leaves. I'm really not big on the idea of Moore becoming the HC if Harbaugh leaves.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:28 PM ^
I like Sherrone, but the truth is this: He literally only has 12 hours of "head coach" experience. That's it.
Harbaugh was still the head coach during all the weeks he was suspended, just not during the games.
Making Sherrone the head coach by default would be a big risk to take for a national program like Michigan.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:21 PM ^
Wow. Nice hire. Upgrade?
January 14th, 2024 at 3:23 PM ^
Everyone moving and shaking. I hope Michigan has a plan. The portal is emptying and there aren't many coaches to poach.
January 14th, 2024 at 4:02 PM ^
Everyone moving and shaking.
They are all doing this in the long-shot hopes of achieving the impossible dream: to one day win a National Championship.
WHICH WE JUST DID YOU GUYS!
January 14th, 2024 at 3:23 PM ^
Great pickup for the Huskies, and good for Jedd.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:23 PM ^
Bad decision if he takes that job that’s a lateral move in my opinion. He should wait to see what happens with Harbaugh because something tells me he’ll get an interview if Harbaugh leaves.
edit: by the way please check the source before posting false information.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:40 PM ^
Lateral? Bullshit... UW has more football history and tradition in its little finger than Arizona could ever hope to get! Plenty of PAC-X Championships and a National Championship. They were even in the playoffs in 2016. UW is a top 15-20 job, Arizona is a job.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:59 PM ^
Better conference, too. (Big Ten > Big 12)
January 14th, 2024 at 3:23 PM ^
This is a great hire for them if true. TBH, if Harbaugh leaves, I would have wanted Michigan to go get Fisch, and have him bring QB Fifita with him.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:37 PM ^
Kinda like Jed’s unapologetic mercenary attitude.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:39 PM ^
wonder if he wouldve moved to washington had the pac12 remained intact.
fisch has a loaded sophomore class returning so arizona likely wouldve been pretty good again. theyre building in the right direction.
big 10 ball draws more eyes though so hes clearly moving up.
i recall reading about arizonas massive budget deficit - losing their best coach in recent history wont help matters
January 14th, 2024 at 3:45 PM ^
With Texas and OU gone, I would have voted Arizona to win the Big 12 next year, pending the health of Cam Rising at Utah. Zona likely makes the playoff next year with Fisch (probably finishes in the 8-16 poll range).
January 14th, 2024 at 3:46 PM ^
Great hire for UW.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:46 PM ^
Harbaugh delaying his decision is really starting to steal the joy from winning a natty for me... At this point if he leaves it looks like we're stuck with Moore as HC and honestly... we're screwed if that's the case IMO.
January 14th, 2024 at 4:00 PM ^
I wouldn’t say screwed if they go with Moore. The players seem to love him - though I think he would be a mistake of a hire when you could likely get just about anyone you want still.
January 14th, 2024 at 4:06 PM ^
Hiring Moore is worst case scenario to me. I don't want to hire anyone who has zero head coaching experience. Also I would rather Minter get a shot since his unit tends to do better than Moore's offense.
January 14th, 2024 at 6:06 PM ^
Michigan has historic success promoting from within.
January 14th, 2024 at 6:04 PM ^
It wouldn’t be ideal because Harbaugh wouldn’t be the only departure we are talking about Minter, Jay, and Herbs at a minimum leaving with Jim that a huge chunk of our culture out the door. A rookie head coach without a lot of connections would have a hard time finding replacements. And those replacements would seemingly be a downgrade. I get the sentiment but I’m glad we won this year and am simultaneously concerned at the prospect of not being able to capitalize on this success and cement the program to an annual force.
January 14th, 2024 at 4:00 PM ^
Slow your roll, people.
While this may end up happening, this is an aggregator twitter account that doesn't cite any sources in the tweet. And I don't see anyone legitimately reporting it yet.
EDIT: lol, 30 seconds after I posted this, Thamel confirms it.
January 14th, 2024 at 4:15 PM ^
Thamel's tweet does not confirm the OP. OP says it's done. Thamel says they're in talks.
January 14th, 2024 at 6:07 PM ^
Why do coaches still fuck with Thamel he’s a parasite that will fuck tou over ask Kalen Deboer who couldn’t even adress his team without dipshit letting the world know. He’s got that energy of the dork you went to school with that thought he was popular cuz he knew some shit and gossiped about it.
January 14th, 2024 at 4:17 PM ^
Fuck, I love Sherrone but that's who I wanted to replace Jim
January 14th, 2024 at 6:09 PM ^
Well Tom Brady hasn’t accepted the huge television contract FOX was offering yet I choose to believe there’s a multiverse out there where he becomes the head coach at Michigan. That’s be some recruiting swag, walk into the recruits living room and put the 7 rings out on the coffee table.
January 14th, 2024 at 4:43 PM ^
Jedd isn't stupid. They're losing 80% of their two deep. It's arguably a worse situation than when he stepped into Arizona.
January 14th, 2024 at 5:23 PM ^
This is not a reliable source. Use critical thinking.
January 14th, 2024 at 5:48 PM ^
I honestly didn’t think that was Jedd for a second. He looks so different from how I remember him. The Harbaugh/Fisch-Winston pre draft segment never ceases to make me laugh. I sometimes watch it for a good chuckle when I’m down or need a pick me up. Jedd has such a shiteating grin when he brings up the crab legs.
January 14th, 2024 at 6:05 PM ^
I am in the no to Moore or Minter as HC. Neither has ever been a HC and reminds me too much of born on third base. The question is who could we get at this point? I am really hoping JH stays.
