He says on Twitter he is decommitting even though we are his, and I quote, "dream school." This is like saying, "I'm finally dating my dream girl, but now that I am doing so, I find it boring and no longer want to bang her." Yup, makes perfect sense...

Class of 2018 ... We've got a long way to go just to finish off our 2017 class. I am not even going to begin to worry about 2018 recruits because I believe by NSD for 2018 we will still have a very strong class.

I know he's young, and I'm not trashing just because he decommitted because I really don't like those who take that route, but he's not great from what I have seen. Gonna need to see some progress on the field and in the weight room before I shed tears over this one.

If you think hanging on to Ohio kids for over a year is hard, Georgia is next level. Not only do they also have an in-state blue blood but it's also a big culture and climate shock to move up to Michigan (although you could argue that leaving the illiterate cave-people of Ohio is also a culture shock). But yeah, there's no obvious reason to assume dirty play beyond a 16 year old committed to a school 600 miles away then got cold feet and changed his mind.

My only concern is that kids are very much swayed by what their peers are doing.  I hope these last couple days don't make anyone who is solid reconsider their position.

I  had heard I am not sure if it was Sam, but I understood it as we have very few Ohio kids in our last class because Meyer got in on them early and we were not going to pull them away. So the easy fix is to get on a potential recruit early and we would get more kids from Ohio by building a relationship with a kid and at least have the same chance as OSU in getting Ohio kids.

If we can't get them by getting there early or late something is starting to smell like a shit house door on a tuna boat. Again I can't remember exactly where I had heard this but it seemed to make sense to me.

but anybody not cocking an eyebrow at three decommits in two days need to..... do more cocking of their eyebrows I guees.  The three players does not bother me as much as the two days part does.

But if what you're saying is true (I'm too lazy to confirm for myself)...this actually makes me feel GOOD.

It means our coaches know how to identify talent.

Now it's going to mean there are going to be more of these down the road...but hey, we also might get one of these guys to stick because we were in on them before anyone else.

That's kind of a big deal in my eyes.

We all know there are certain great to ELITE prospects in the south that flat out aren't coming north. But may we have a shot at some of those we've always had ZERO chance at if we ID them early.

2 for 10 is better than 0 for 10 because you don't try because you know there's no way in hell a kid or a kid from a certain school would even CONSIDER Michigan.

I wonder if Michigan getting back to Michigan and OSU/Meyer being where they are will help both teams (OSU doesn't really need it) get and keep these types of propects.

When both teams are elite and the hype train is rolling...I'd imagine the exposure, the pull to play in The Game, etc. may help us even a tiny bit with these kind of recruits in the south that are usually a lock for UGA, UF, Clemson, FSU, Tennesee, Auburn, Alabama, LSU or TAMU.
