The only negative is he has to be in the Bay Area where the $850,000 he makes this year likely seems like it doesn’t go very far. In frickin Green Bay, KC or Jacksonville you could run the place. I’m not saying he’s making nothing, but NFL salaries go harder in some cities more than others.

If "few years" means end of his rookie contract, not really. $5.5M total over 5 years, ~40% tax (maybe 35%, california is 10% on top of Federal), means he'll end up with "only" $3.3M
Unfortunately that's not set for life (if he's going to stay in the bay area).
