Jabri Abdur-Rahim Decision Tomorrow

Submitted by woosterwolverine1224 on July 9th, 2019 at 2:38 PM

Jabri Abdur-Rahim just announced he'll be committing tomorrow (no time according to his tweet).  Seems like a two horse race with us and UVA but most of the ballz are in for UVA as of today.  Here's hoping that Juwan can run with the recruiting momentum from Franz!

He has absolutely zero inside sources.  He just steals from other reporters and claims the scoop as his own.  OR he makes up really shitty unfounded rumors and guesses at things, then deletes the tweets when he gets it wrong.

He's a troll who says shitty things to get the fan base riled up.  He attacks other reporters and hurls childish insults at them all the time.

He's also pretty much been banned from Michigan's campus and outed as a fraud by the AD.

He's a tool.  He's the biggest tool.

When yahoo finance has an article about someone titled “A Cautionary Tale About Fraud in Sports Media,” that’s probably an indicator that they are a con artist. That doesn’t even include all the Michigan-related scams. The guy has zero integrity and zero inside information.

Yoder = Fraud

Basically, his influence is click-bait negative full of made-up bullshit.  Why YouTube gives that fraud a medium to spout his shit is yet another reason to unplug yourself from social media.

Free yourself - kill your Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram accounts !

As someone mentioned below, the guy has a casual relationship with the truth. Here's the article on it: Exclusive: Inside the ugly breakup of Sports Illustrated, The Cauldron, and Chat Sports

As the other comments have mentioned, he routinely takes what is a rumor (which, by the way others - including Brian and some of the paywalled sites also usually get) and publishes them as fact. People don't got to publication with it because it's not verified, it's a fluid situation, etc. He doesn't care. He writes it up so that way if right he can say he's first. If wrong he deletes or said something changed, and because of social media and the way this works people give him passes for the latter while claiming he "got" the stories right even when others had it as well, but was not credible to publish.

Just take the most recent example of the "Shea tweet" - which he (and his followers) gleefully retweeted until realizing they were conned by someone with a fake account. Then he deleted it.

All signs pointing to UVA... sad. This kid is definitely gonna be a 5 star when all is said and done. He’s a dynamic scorer

He hasn't visited Michigan, yet, has he?  I don't think so...  And suspecting no visit, congrats to UVA and good luck for an excellent career to the kid.

I posted this in the Franz thread:

"I tried to drop hints a few weeks back in my 'Notes from St. Louis' post.......buried in the middle of a few NBA tidbits to be subtle. JAR has wanted to be done with the process for a while, hence him likely sitting out July. Unfortunately, we're going to fall victim to Coach Beilein's untimely departure. Barring that, JAR would be at Michigan right now and he would've made that public during his originally planned OV from 6/26-6/28"

I dont want to start a whole thread on this unless I need to but I have some questions on hoops recruiting. Football seems to recruit by committee and has a whole network set up. The class always seem to follow each other on social media and have class nicknames. They help recruit others in their class and other classes. Dudek is big into coordinating and is huge on social media. When the Fab 5 was recruited, one or two committed and then recruited the others to come. Why doesnt basketball have this type of flow to it like football does? Seems like if a big time prospect would sign and then recruit others like that, it might have a domino effect. Thoughts?

Smaller classes, smaller amounts of time on campus, less downtime. Basketball world is much more regional imo than football. I'm more in tune with the football side of things than basketball, but I know dudes in basketball will hoop in open gyms with the other dudes from their city/section of the state. You'll know your friends from AAU and all that, whereas football it's HS ball focused and then heavy camp circuits.

And also, if you're an elite prospect considering 1 and done, you don't really care about who else is there. Your goal is to be there for 6 months, and get the bag. It's not really as big of a deal, where if things go well in football, you'll be there a minimum of 3 years.

Let's take Zeb Jackson for example, are there not kids he has played with and against that he could recruit to come in the 2020 class? This class may be 5 or 6 deep, seems like you would want him networking and recruiting for you some. Does bball not have a recruiting coordinator like Dudek? I can see where your 1 and dones may not care but the others will. Who wouldn't want to win a title before going to the NBA after 2 one years? I keep hearing about Howard's recruiting chops but what about the other assistants besides Saddi?

Hey guys sorry to thread jack but I can't create a post. I'm a former football student manager who recently graduated so I no longer work for the team. I could use some extra cash so I'm looking to sell some of my team-issued Jordan shoes which include a couple models that were not released to the public as well as a pair of cleats. Do any of you have any advice on where the best place for me to sell these shoes would be?
