That was my first reaction as well. The post game interview has since come out though and this comment wasn’t even close to as inflammatory as Bell is making it to be. Izzo said this in regards to it being a dominant defense effort and typical big ten game.
On the importance of playing a tough, physical game that was also relatively simple…
I told Mel (Tucker) that game was for him because our defense won the game, and that's important to him.
Make of that what you will but seems pretty benign upon further review unless I’m missing a separate quote.

I may hate OSU deep down into my bones, but I have great respect for them as a program and institution. I hate MSU, and I have no respect for them whatsoever. They are not worthy of my respect.

Good take. I look at it as a double edge sword in comparison. OSU puts some high quality/ character athletes but their fan base is absolute douchebags. MSU players are mostly absolute low character douchebags but their fan base is primarily tolerable (RCMB posters are not the norm like 11W).

Disagree. Watched the game at 24 seconds yesterday and those State fans are the biggest d bags. Yelling and hollering like they were winning the national championship. Like it’s one thing to cheer for your team but this was over the top enthusiasm. They haven’t had many wins over Michigan recently so I guess they need something to cheer about.
