After all the dissapointment of this season it can ALL be wiped away with a win today and a Sweet 16 banner could be achieved...It would change the perception of this season Greatly!!

Yeah, that win against CSU, coming back and winning comfortably like we did, that was sweet. With all the struggles we've had this year, knowing how good the team can be but not having the maturity - I guess - to sustain 'greatness', it was good to see them gather their resolve and come back against the Rams. Who knows, maybe we'll gather some resolve today.

Side question: does the NCAA (or some other body) actually "award" these banners (e.g. Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, Final Four, etc.) or do the schools just decide to have them made whenever they want?  Getting to the third round of a six-round tournament doesn't exactly seem like a cause for "official" commemoration... almost akin to a participation trophy.

UCF was a bit different - they were actually deemed as "national champion" by one of the NCAA recognized elector methods.  By the strict rules of the NCAA, they are a "co-" national champion for that year along with Alabama (who was the consensus champion as well as "co-"... just not the *unanimous* champion).

In 2011, it was.... this

On our way to a 75 - 45 first round tournament victory. At the bar I was at (in Tennessee) I continued to order "blue shots" to celebrate 2 hours of domination. Maybe not a great choice, but memorable.

Zack Novak at Power Forward (seriously with that team WTF) went 14 and 10. Stu, Timmy and Vogrich all had 11. Tobias Harris put in 19 for Bruce Pearl's Vols that day.

In 2014, it was this....

Michigan 73 Tennessee 71

Michigan got up big and Cuonzo Martin's Vols erased a 15 point deficit. There were no blue shots on this occasion as I had just a few days prior had surgery to repair a torn left patellar.

Jordan had 15 and made it all feel better, while Stauskas 14, GR3 13, Caris 10, lead a top heavy starter squad all playing 30+ minutes (with Walton at point), over Jordan McRae's 24 for the Vols.

Do it again today boys. One more time!

The team showed some maturity against the Rams. Didn't get flustered, kept at it, survived and advanced. I like what I saw in the faces of the team, some real desire. I know they will ride that wave against the Vols, would be great to ride it into the Sweet 16!

Just win and survive. Given how bad some of the B1G teams looked on Friday and still won, as long as Michigan wins by a single point is all that matters.
