Longtime lurker here - read probably 90% of board threads for 10+ years! For some reason today felt like the day to make an account.
Live in West MI and driving to the game with my brother. Only other OSU game I attended was 2016 in Columbus. Feeling more confident today than I was that year - maybe it’s the Kool-Aid. Love this team!!

I was in the same boat until recently, long time lurker and finally created an account. Win/Lose, the team has shown it has some gumption. I’m ready to get me heart stomped on because I actually believe a win is possible.
I stared lurking after the 247/Beaver incident. Sooo many deleted threads/posts that night, and one of the craziest things I ever seen in a forum community. I still listen to Sam, but that ended my 247 account. Used to have a lot of screenshots of posts from that incident.

Well said - I’ll take another heart stomping if necessary! But these boys have a fight and love for the game that is infectious. From the jump around at Wisconsin, to the comeback(s) against Nebraska, to the spine they showed on the road against Penn State - I believe they can pull it off today.
OSU has played 3 good teams this year - Penn State, MSU, and Oregon. All at home and all in great weather. This will be the toughest game for Stroud and I think we can rattle him!

Couldn’t get to sleep till midnight, I’m old so that’s late for my old ass. Woke up at 2, woke up at 4 and finally at 5 and said fuk it, it’s game day. Drinking coffee, waiting to see about tickets. Let’s do this! These guys are supremely confident and dam well should be. If all goes well then Stroud may be walking into a buzzsaw and will have a mental timeclock of 1 elephant haunting his dreams for the next 364 days.

Put the coaching hat back on this week, watched some game film and thought about how I’d attack this OSU team and what I think they may try to do.
Thinking we may see some 3 DL looks to free up Ojabo and Hutchinson on the outside. Obviously need best players to be best players, but I’m looking for guys like Smith and Hinton and maybe even Jeter to step up too.
The story is old as time. To start a more skilled, fast, and talented offense, need to prevent big plays and force field goals. Basically, the antithesis of the old Don Brown defense!

Woke up about 48 times through the night, stress dreams, up at 4-something-a.m. Concerned for my mental health that I place it in the hands of 20-y-o’s I’ve never met who play for a school I didn’t attend but fuck it….life is short and I’ll take meaning where I can find it, which today is sitting next to my 73-y-o mother on a 30° aluminum bleacher with 100,000 of our closest friends and some assholes from the American tragedy that is the state of Ohio. winter weather advisory for....1-3" of snow? we want some WEATHER! why, when i was a kid between innings at our baseball games the zamboni came out! it snowed up hill and people shot at us in the middle of summer! football was played on fields of broken glass, and we were thankful for the glass!

Honestly the best bet is going to be to sit in zone coverage all day long, make Stroud fit the ball into tight windows. Don't give up the 60yd td over the top, force them to drive the field and score touchdowns in the red zone. When on offense, run the football, burn clock, limit OSU possessions. If they execute that plan, and still lose then it wasn't mean to be this year.
