It's a beautiful summer evening, what are you drinking?
Well, you're not going to get a snazzy intro about life on the farm but I think we can all agree summer evenings are a time to rejoice. College football starts in 28 days but plenty of fun to be had in the meantime. What's everyone up to tonight? Drinks? BBQ? Family plans? I'm enjoying a pint of a hoppy lager right by the beach. Hope all is well.
Yeah, we lost Dad in September, but we kind of saw that coming. He was 90 and really slowing down the last few months.
Mom had an outpatient surgery last week and supposedly everything went well, then less than 48 hours later she was gone.
It's weird being a middle aged orphan.

Sorry about your loss but the wake celebrating her life is an approach I find improves family member spirits versus the alternative.
Just got back from a dinner date and suds at the Stone Brewery in Escondido. They have a nice patio garden spot and we had perfect weather. Very cool spot, stop by if you’re in the area.

No power at my place on westside A2, so last night I drank two gin gimlets by lanternlight. Ice cubes courtesy of a neighbor across the street who has power.
Another neighbor just went on vacation, so I'm using their place to work during the weekend.
It's frustrating to not have the juice while the other side of the street right across from you does. It's happened to us repeatedly over the last 20 years.

What are you watching after the sunset? Last night was Jesus Revolution. Tonight, was Fisherman's Friends 2 - One and All. Both were pretty good. Fisherman's Friends is a sensational folk band out of Cornwall. Worth a listen.
