Here's the place for hot takes on just about everything else.

Whatever we were trying to do on offense was awful. We shot ourselves in the foot repeatedly and made Iowa look not stupid (!!!) for signing Ferentz to a 50 year extension

The good- Win out and we still have the chance at the playoffs

The Bad- Didn't come out to play, offensive line got manhandled, speight could not hit a pass, and could not run the ball.

Credit where credit it due to Iowa but Michigan came out and played slow and without passion and it showed

I was not a fan of the playcalling tonight. Maybe it's just because the plays weren't working, but all those pitches and jet motions weren't doing anything for us. I think they were doing better when they simply ran the ball. Those missed deep balls really hurt us and I'm hoping Speight isn't seriously injured. Try not to overreact too much people (I realize how difficult this is for some people). All of the team's goals are still in front of them. This loss basically changed nothing. College football, shit happens, #'s 2, 3 and 4 all went down today.

Agreed re: play calling. And gimmicky Peppers offensive packages have to go. It was cute initially, but they've largely been ineffective - defenses are no longer fooled. Overall just flat, uninspired play and coaching. Good news: we can still win out. Hopefully, Speight's injury isn't serious.

I think we got too fancy, wasted short yardage situations against a line where picking up 4 on 3rd down was not a sure thing. Also, the refs did us no favors.

Iowa are not very good and even though they played a good game today, there were plenty of opportunities on the field to win this game.

Speight choked big time and so did the receivers. The truth is that they hadn't been in an environment like this before, the truth is that they hadn't been up against it before.

If this is the kind of game that shows the character of a team then this game has shown Michigan to be the same old - namely a team that will lose multiple games even in good' years.

It's really difficult to see this team win or even compete in Columbus. If they lose there, it's off to Florida for a nice Bowl game vs a team like Auburn or LSU..

If Speight connects on all 3 deep balls were we still out coached? That's 21 points and an easy victory. Were we still out coached if Speight connects on all 3 and we win by 20? I do think the game plan should've called for more runs, but to say we were out coached when there were 21 points left on the table by missed throws just seems ignorant. Am I alone in this thinking?

So, apart from the short term "what the fuck Speight are you hurt? what are the refs doing? Harbaugh needs to simplify his offense if he wants to beat top teams? where's our perimeter blocking? where's our edge rush defense? AHHH" rage, I'm actually kind of content. Michigan and you can lump in Clemson and Washington here too, are in pretty much the same position they were in last week. Win out and you're in.

This one was on the coaches. I have no idea what their plan was on offense. They got cute at inopportune times and just killed drives with the play calling.

Outside of that, both lines got pushed around badly. Given the way they've played against two road teams with a pulse, Ohio State is going to blow them out of the water.

Well 10-2 isn't a bad season and the program is on an upswing. Just sad as I thought they really had a chance at a special season. Just too much road derp left over in this team to have any faith about Columbus. Also now not sure at all about the Indiana game as I worry about a hangover.

Here's a hot take: did you notice that this ended similarly to the 2015 MSU game where if we had simply got a first down, it would have been over? I'm too scared to look, but I bet it Smith runs that hurt us then, too.

I love him and his pass blocking is great, but he just does not show up for big games. The safety was especially horrible. Hill missed his assignment, but Smith stopped dead in his tracks like a deer in headlights. If he keeps his momentum into the defender he likely makes it out of the endzone by inches.

More than Smith, it's on Harbaugh.

Harbaugh has had horrid fourth quarter playcalling both years against MSU and now this year against Iowa.

He's a great coach, but he is far from the perfect angel many on here think him to be.

He has a lot to prove the next few weeks. Time to earn his salary.

Bad performance. I really thought we would win it all this year, even after MSU. Good thing I didn't pt money on it. At this point I see us losing to OSU and playing Florida again...

Brian has been bitching for a decade that Lloyd Carr's teams always went 9-3 and lost to OSU. Last year we went 10-3 and lost to OSU. Unless this team pulls off a miracle they will be 10-2 with a loss to OSU going into the bowl. Unless a dinged up Speight and a defense that can't hold the edge is going to beat Urban Meyer and a senior J.T. Barret.

I have seen it, but I didnt want to believe it. While Jim Harbaugh is a hell of a coach, a hell of a teacher. He is lacking in  good game management .

I think we will be ok if we win our next two games, then win the BT championshiop game .

We should make the Playoff if we do all of that. But damn would we even stand a chance against Bama?  They just look head and shoulders above everyone this year .

As much as I hate a Michigan loss, this might help in the long run if the players learn and get better .

win or lose, Go Blue

I think Harbaugh is a great coach, but everything he did tonight was pure Hoak-level shit. This team looked like a beginning of the year Rich Rod team. No motivation, no drive garbage. Harbaugh is still effed up from Iowa in 85. Love him, good coach but Kirk Ference raw dogged him tonight

Gotta love how MSU, ND and OSU all won by blowout on the same day we go down to a big underdog. Ah. Perfect. Might as well be really fucking miserable instead of just fucking miserable.

This sucks, but given what else happened today, its meaningless.  We are still right where we started at 8pm.  If we win out, we go to the playoffs.

First off, Clemson and Washington lost today also.  Who knows how that affects playoff chances, but it's a good thing for us at this point.

Some bad penalties and weird plays:

- Bush targeting / ejection, really hurt with McCray struggling in spots

- Phantom facemask

- Lucky interception on the Chesson bobble

- Darboh dropped a potential game-sealing catch

- Speight over / under-threw a few long balls that could have been TDs (recall how we won against Wisc. on a similar throw)

- Darboh touchdown overturned (probably correctly)

- Killer safety early on to give them tons of momentum

- Hill fumble to start the half

We did luck get some x-factor plays with their missed FG and roughing the kicker penalty, but they clearly got the best of the weird juju tonight.

Aside from that, they just played with a lot more juice and better coaching tonight.  The screen call against the blitz on 4th down to get their touchdown, the QB draw to set up the winning FG.  All game they tackled well, held the edge, and pounded us with Wadley.  Speight got dinged up and missed a few deep balls.  Fucking brutal.

Now we have to win out.
