I totally get the frustration. No reason for this game to be at night. Unfortunately, for people running college football, its about the money, not student athlete or fan well being.

They did this in 2017 for the Minnesota game which served as a palate cleanser for the MSU loss

My daughter is a freshmen at Michigan so she’s been to games now but we (wife and two other teenagers first game) are coming up from Florida and are weather wimps having lived in San Diego the last 13 years.
My wife will not be thrilled. My 14 year old son will love being under the lights and night game. Hoping the fans and players can lick their wounds and keep fighting for what can still be a very good season. We will be there cheering and enduring the cold.

It's even worse for the Big Ten Network: They have Iowa - Northwestern at night in Evanston this Saturday. There will be 200 people there.
Obviously the Michigan - Indiana and Iowa - Northwestern night games are based on how well Indiana, Iowa, and Northwestern did last year. This year . . . not so much.
If you are going to force night games in November, then at least wait until you see what matchups are compelling this season.
