Crazy!  I wonder if the second M runner would get that jolt of adrenaline without the fall of the first.  Third runner as well, with the added excitement of being back in the race.  That’s some incredible focus for all four, especially the first for getting up and closing some of the gap.

It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

Such a crazy comeback; no idea about the other 3 teams' lineups for that 4x400 but to go from 50m-ish lead to getting dusted has got to be disheartening.

Congrats to UM.

Watching people run the 400 makes my muscles seize up and I start gasping for air.  Had a buddy who was a thrower on a college track team and he always said "the people who run the 400 aren't right in the head."

I hear you. When I was in high school, our basketball coach said we needed to play a spring sport as well so I tried track my freshman year. Didn’t really know much, other than I wasn’t fast enough to be a sprinter, and didn’t have the endurance for the longer events. So I figured I might as well just do the 400, it shouldn’t be too bad. Oof. Total agony.

People talk about grit and determination, and props to the girl on the first leg for continuing the race. But really what I see here is a group of girls that was just vastly superior physically

This is awesome. I used to run the first leg of what we called the Mile Relay back then. I thought we might catch them at the end. Crazy to win by that much.

At around 2:55 of that video, the announcer proclaims "Ohio State is really starting to pull away." Right after that, at about the 3:00 mark, you can see the Michigan runner, still in fourth and making the turn in the background. She's basically just a blur,  It's unreal.
