Igor Ibaka? OKC's Serge Ibaka's little brother
I was watching the OKC-Memphis game and the announcers started talking about Serge ibaka's little brother Igor. They mentioned that he was garnering interest from michigan during the telecast. Are there any rumors about this?
He currently plays at NE Oklahoma A&M (JuCo), while he transitions to life in the United States.
He is 6 9 and weighs in around 220lb. May be an interesting development going forward if there is any truth to it.
Here are his highlights.

I found this interesting. I hadn't heard Igor's name mentioned at all and was kinda surprised when they mentioned Serge saying that we might be offering his brother. Looked like he was a solid player as a freshman. It will be interesting to see if this develops into something going forward.

I was just about to make a post about this because I heard the same thing and it caught me off guard.
FWIW here's a link to his rivals page. Not very informative.
I'm guessing nothing comes of it...

I like that we're starting to take transfers and jucos. We don't need to be Kansas State under Snyder, but rarely taking them in any sport puts us at a disadvantage.
Getting a transfer from another accredited four-year university is one thing, but don't get your hopes up for JUCOs. The reason there are so few JUCOs playing for Michigan in any sport is because as an institution U-M typically accepts a very small percentage of JUCO credit hours. Whether that's right or wrong, that's not going to change.
I'm not sure the same issues would apply to someone coming from a foreign country. The reasons for going to a JuCo might be totally different for someone like that.

he still has to be taking classes we'll accept. I wouldn't be too optimistic about that.
In Oklahoma all the public colleges and universities use the same course number for most of the general ed. courses, so schools like Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University automatically accept these courses even if taken at a community college. Of course this doesn't mean Michigan must do the same thing, but it might make it easier to accept more of the core gen ed classes.
for classes from Michigan community colleges.

We haven't taken any transfers yet, although we have in the past, and this is just the faintest hint of a possible JUCO.

If he is truly 6'9 let's roll.
I believe it says he's a freshman so I wonder if this would be a 2014 or 2015 offer.
It depends on if he was a full qualifier when he entered junior college. If so, he could transfer to a D-1 school in 2014. If not, he'll have to graduate from the juco before transferring, and he'd be a 2015. Rivals lists him in the 2015 class.
As long as he's not just a half brother....

This guy looks like he has real nba-potential talent. Don't know the particulars about his class and what not but if he suited up next year this is a crazy good class. Amazing how things change in college bball recruiting. Props to the coaches for keeping their grind on.
