...IF Michigan is in the market for a new DC, who would you like to see?

Before someone takes the time to click this thread to grown about redundancy...I searched the board. There wasn't anything that consolidated ideas around DC (most of the talk is around a new HC).

So let's say reports are true and Harbaugh accepts less money, but uses that money for a new DC (or co-DCs)...who would you like at Michigan?

It gets talked about A LOT!  When Mattison left, it tanked DL recruiting and development.  His replacement, Shaun Nua, isn't good enough.  It's that plain and simple - he isn't good enough.  We have no interior DL worthy of a starting spot, and a decent number of them probably shouldn't even be on the team.  He doesn't recruit well, and he can't coach.

To be honest, most people are pretty sure that Mattison stopped recruiting sometime during the 2018 season.  Also pretty sure that he told Zach Harrison he was going to OSU before that all happened.  Also pretty sure that he tanked the OSU game by not preparing his players for shit.

His absence left a big, yuge hole in the middle of the DL that neither Harbaugh nor Brown has done anything to address.  Leaving Nua to sort it out should have been a known mistake early in 2019.

Probably a reach and not a fit for Michigan right now, but in the future keep an eye on Joseph Gillespie at Tulsa.  Caught a few of their games this year and am impressed with Tulsa's D.  They are #13 nationally in DF+ and have held down some pretty potent offenses (UCF, SMU), and held Oklahoma St to 16 points (still Tulsa's only loss this season).

DC: Todd Bates

OC: Kevin Wilson.  Double his salary, punch back at OSU.  Have to get someone proven as OC to end the question about Harbaugh meddling either way.
