I don't think Ryan Day knows why he's losing to Michigan

I think that Day and people around him are so convinced that OSU is better due to their talent that they haven't studied what's changed in the Mega game between Michigan & OSU.   Plus, I don't think Day & company want to change.

This is what Day said when asked, "What's changed in the rivalry to swing it to Michigan the past 2 yeasrs"?

It's fortunate for Michigan that the way OSU lost to Georgia in the playoffs last year validated Day's strategy.  I'm sure he said, "look how Georgia killed U of M in 2021 and we had Georgia beat" (OSU had an over 90% win probability with 2 minutes left in the Georgia game).

IMHO what's happened is that Harbaugh intentionally build a team designed to beat OSU.  It took a lot of years to get the lines & proper defense built up but it has now arrived.   OSU doesn't want to change and what worked for Michigan in 2021 and 2022 will work again and again until OSU makes a change.

Go Blue!

Not worth it's own thread but Bowling Green looks to be going to 7-5 so that's another pretty good win for the good guys. Also in ESPN's advanced metrics Michigan is 1, 2, and 3 so we are definitely up there in terms of teams. Finally wrt Bowling Green and McCarthy it's no wonder that JJ struggled in that game these guys are ballhawks. They have a ton of interceptions so they didn't just make life miserable for JJ.

Bottom line: Beat Ohio.

Like Brian said, they rely on explosive plays to score, not sustained drives. Harrison will get open, but we've already faced the best qb we'll see in 3rd quarter Taulia, and he faced pressure on almost every snap. We have answers for them, they don't have answers for us. They may win a quarter, but we'll win The Game. Go Blue.

All this AI stuff is WAY wrong.  Stallions was using a flux capacitor on his vacs and jumping to the future to see what OSU was running on defense.  Wait until the NCAA figures this out.

Is winning a national championship better than beating your rival? I think OSU is built for the playoffs and are positioned to back in again this year with some luck. Next year is wide open with the 12 team format. I’ll savor the shit out of beating them but I’d be ok losing if we won the national championship.

This strategy might pay off long term though as The Game loses relevance in terms of which team gets into the playoffs. If Ohio State’s goal is to win championships and they were set up better to beat Georgia than Michigan that’s probably ultimately better in terms of winning it all.
