Doubt it's Quinerly. He's going to be asking for a big, big bag.

My guess is it's Jose Perez. In a vacuum he'd be a relatively uninspiring add but within the context of the current roster and time of year, he'd fit as a 2/3 who can get some buckets. Unfortunately he is not a shooter (only 30% on 352 career attempts in 3.5 seasons).

Yeah.

Like I said above, in a vacuum it's somewhere between meh and blech, and definitely not someone that Michigan would pursue in April. Given that it's July, there are two open scholarships and plenty of questions around secondary creation (either Llewellyn off an ACL or Burnett despite not doing it much in 3 years), I think it's worth a shot.

Yeah, he's an inefficient but voluminous scorer at the mid-major level but basically didn't see the court at Marquette - no idea why though that Marquette team was a bit of a shitshow and got their coach fired that next season.  He was the MAAC preseason POY for Manhattan (and having lived around that school for a decade) I can say that it's in a decent league and guys from there can compete at the P5 level in a reduced role.  So he's basically a poor man's Caleb Love, and while that's not great in April it's not going to hurt in July if you just need bodies and maybe Howard thinks he can fix him a bit with better coaching.

We'll see.

He got hurt early in the season at Marquette and then came back and played the end of the year. But as you said, that team was butt and got Wojo canned. I wouldn't really hold anything about that season against Perez.

I'm not like excited or anything about him but I can see the potential if you can slice off about 10% of usage.

Yeah, I figured he was hurt for a while at Marquette since he only played the last 8 games of the year and then they shut him down again for the BE tournament.

If he's a leading playmaker this year it ain't great but as your 3rd/4th option late in a shot clock or a top option on the second unit that would work.  Last year he had a 31% assist rate and a fouls draw rate of 7%, which is pretty good and points to a guy who can get to the hoop and draw fouls and dish to other guys.  That's something they haven't had for a while at least.

Wow man, maybe pace this amount of information out. A guy you don’t know said an unnamed player might be transferring is a lot to process at once.

Huh?  He's transferring from WVU, not to WVU.  He played at Manhattan college in 21-22, transferred to WVU for last season, but didn't play, and now is back in the portal.  Sounds like it's almost a done deal he's transferring to Michigan.
