good heavens, i know we're in OT season, and there isn't much going on, but "this guy i've never heard of is hinting that some unnamed player might be transferring" is...man.  it's a post, i guess.

This basketball offseason shows where we are without competent leadership or a competent NIL program.

1. Hunter leaves

2. Everyone else who could have left declares for the draft

3. Caleb Love doesn't get his credits to transfer

4. Scrounging for last minute transfers in July

5. Warde Manuel is nowhere to be seen

1.  Hunter left for more money.   We don't know the amount.   We don't know how much Michigan had available.   In fact, it's probably hard for Michigan to know how much Kansas gave him.    IMO, Hunter is a bit overrated as a player.  Yes a great postup offensive player but poor rebounder, bad defense and despite what every TV commentator says not a good passer.   Again, IMO, Hunter leaving is addition by subtraction.

2.  Those who left for the draft (Kobe and Jett) made the correct career decisions to do so.  Kudos to Michigan for putting them in that position.

3.  This will continue to be an argument between those who think Michigan should let every athlete into school and those who think, as an elite academic school, Michigan needs to have some admission standards.

4. Michigan is not scrounging for transfers in July.  The team has all the players it needs and will be a competitive team.  They do have two available scholarships - if someone comes along that will make the team better they will use them.  If not, in the bank they go for the future.

5.  Warde Manuel has an athletic department that is the envy of most universities.

There's no way you can argue this team is better off without Hunter. I get that people didn't like personality but he was one of the best players in the country every year even with the team around him getting worse each year.

I think people will really appreciate that when the 5 spot looks a whole lot worse even though Reed has potential.

Maybe this team is competitive in the middle of the conference, but it still looks like a really bad roster, probably about 4/5 team.

I can argue it!   Maybe I'm wrong but I can make an argument that the team will be better off without him.

With Hunter, Michigan's offense looks like a Brontoaurous with his feet in cement.   By year 2 and esp year 3 of Hunter, teams figured out how to defend him.  Make him use is right hand.   Let him get that entry pass and then come at him with a double and even triple team.   Hunter could not take advantage with any interior passing and his passes to the 3 point line often sailed high or wide erasing any catch and shoot.   We got killed by slashers because Hunter offered virtually no rim protection for a 7 footer.  We had no transition game in part because he was terrible at recognizing an outlet pass when he did get a rebound.

College basketball is a game where one player can make all the difference.  Hunter was not able to get his team into the tournament in year 3 and if Hunter is so great how does he get beat by CMU and almost beat by Libscomb?   He was supposed to be a leader of the team yet seemed more concerned about his podcast career and NIL money.

All he did today was announce all the teams that have reached out already, which include Michigan, Oregon, Gonzaga, etc. He may ultimately end up at Michigan but it didn’t appear that Michigan was the decision as of yet.

The title could be just as incorrect with fewer words.  The inference was that there would be portal news relative to Michigan today, not that someone was announcing for Michigan.
