Didn't see this posted yet, and it was news to me.

A decision from No. 1 transfer Hunter Dickinson is expected today and
@Isaac__Trotter
breaks down the pros and cons of each possible landing spot.

🏀 Villanova
🏀 Maryland
🏀 Kansas
🏀 Kentucky
🏀 Georgetown
🏀 Syracuse
🏀 A return to Michigan

Random additional transfer note that didn't seem to warrant its own thread, Moten is headed to Florida.

I realize he's going to Kansas or maybe Villanova but I pray he comes back to Michigan. He raises the floor of the season a lot, even though this probably his worst fitting team since he's been here.

Good luck wherever he goes.

Anyone know what time his podcast is today?

Seems like his preference is Kentucky, then Maryland, then Kansas, then maybe Nova or return.

Regarding Moten,

As much as we would have loved to hold on to him, when your non-starter yet contributing players are transfering to D1, big name SEC schools (yes I realize UF has been down recently), it is a sign that the program is churning out talent and is becoming if not already part of the elite.

Only Bama and OSU were in this position for the past 10 years or so, with Clemson never having quite that depth even in their championship years.  UGA has already entered that group of football factory and UM looks to be knocking on the door.

I'd argue that no team has done a better job of talent assessment, identification and output given recruiting rankings vs. on field performance and current roster construction than UM.

Hopefully the 2024 recruiting class is a harbinger of things to come, and UM can bring even higher end talent into the culture and player development currently in the program.

I had the same thought.

Moten will be reunited with Deuce Spurlock.

I just listened to his podcast. It does not sound like coming back to Michigan is really still on the table. He said "I am genuinely still trying to decide which of the 4 is best for me". The 4 are Nova, Kentucky, Kansas and Maryland.

He also talked about the difference in UK and Kansas vs Michigan and how the basketball atmosphere is much greater at those schools. It’s not surprise news just don’t see why the need to take little jabs at the school that’s been taking care of you for three years. He could’ve just pointed out their qualities and left Michigan out of it.

UK fan boards are saying he’s all UK. The question is whether Shiebs returns. Rumor has floated UK offered a fairly healthy amount of money as well. Of course, this doesn’t matter if Shiebs comes back. Taking this with a grain of salt as the UK fans are bipolar.

Id like to see Shiebs come back, and Hunter return to UM but sounds like UM may be a foregone conclusion.

I know it’s a big decision, but it really seems to be dragging out. I wish he would just make a choice and get this over with. I still have a bit of hope he comes back but I doubt that will happen.

I logged just to ask why are we not offering an NIL package to Dickinson?

We spent 2 years saying we wouldn't do p4p...instead our NIL would go toward retention yet we've allowed our AA, C, parade around the country begging for an NIL package.

I live in Florida and people down here ask me daily what is Michigan doing?

This is the most educated Michigan sports board on the planet so I ask what are we doing with Dickinson?

It feels like he wants to be at Michigan but is it mutual. I just wish it was over.

While it would be nice to see Hunter return for his final year at Michigan, the team is going to be worse next season with or without him.

Go to a title contender, Hunter.

You deserve one last opportunity to be a part of March Madness.

On another bright note, Joe Lundardi already has a bracket for 2024 out and 9 B1G teams are in the 68, but Michigan is not one of them. Without Hunter, that's how this roster is being looked at.

We don't have any inside scoring, currently. Tarris needs to really grow a post game, better his FT from start of season, and learn how to avoid fouling. Jackson is a 6ppg 4, like Terry.

We really need a 5 from the portal that can compete with Reed, or at least spell him when he gets in foul trouble playing true centers like Edey or even those frosh from Sparta this past year.

Sparty, OSU, and Purdue are looking to be the top of the league by many experts.

hunter isn’t remotely close to being good enough to troll like this. Lebron’s decision was annoying, but it’s lebron and he didn’t troll for clips on his 400 subscriber podcast.

He is ski mask dick. More antics than wins.

Hunter’s decision is to go to Skeeps, which is a decision he made 3 times a week during the season

Awful take, he's absolutely good enough...especially when you don't have a better option.

Does that mean we have to want him back? No. Does that mean we make the Final Four with him? No.

It means nothing more than what was stated, he's worth it, which is why teams are willing to bend over backwards and go along with it.

If he changes his mind and decides to return to Michigan, going to be funny reading all the celebration posts from the same people saying good riddance right now.

Getting him back would make us Big Ten contenders next season, not favorites or anything, but among the 5 or 6 teams chasing the title.  Him leaving means we're a bubble team, probably wrong side of bubble.

Me, personally, I don’t care if he comes back or not, I just want some talent down low on the block and to have a better season than last year. I’d like to see Nkamhoua come here. What’s interesting is that the school hasn’t announced any of the transfers officially.

The most fickle fanbase in the country. It was the same thing with Harbaugh, both times.

As soon as someone leaves every other Michigan fan takes it personally, like a jealous ex. "Fine, I didn't even like you anyway!"

It's weird. People need to grow up and relax.

It also makes absolutely no difference if Hunter Dickinson is on the team today, tomorrow, or a month from now. He's really not even blocking a potential spot for someone else, we have one from Papa Kante that we haven't filled.
