How do we get The Killers to play the largest football stadium in the US?

they have to be moved by seeing 100,000+ people singing one of their songs.

I say we make Brandon Flowers an honorary captain for UTL 2022

I am glad I'm not the only person on this board who's thought that having the Killers play at Michigan Stadium would be awesome. It would be an incredible long shot, but I would love to see the Killers close for Michigan's spring game.

Unfortunately, the Killers released an album last summer and are kicking off a major tour in late April. Their schedule is insane. It looks like they are playing pretty much every other day from April through December. However, they do close the American portion of their tour on October 8 in Detroit and have a few weeks off before heading to New Zealand. I'm just saying, Michigan Stadium is right down the road...

thats not gona be our theme song forever is it? I've always thought we should play a song (with lyrics on the board) to a song every week that people know. Unlike wisky which gets them into a frenzy, we make it a "good time" song... that everyone enjoys. Our crowd isnt the "frenzy" type. We did the Journey thing, now the Killers. But... i want to go a bit old school. Get the old heads up and singing too (i guess im kinda one of those now). Announce it the week before, people can play it to death and then everyone sings it that weekend

All Night Long - Lionel Ritchie

pour some sugar on me - Def Leppard

Livin on a Prayer - Bon Jovi

We will rock you - Queen

Aint no mountain high enough - Marvin Gaye

They would for sure - they do private shows in small venues all the time - its more likely the school or the town who would stop this for reasonably obvious reasons - sadly

If they did it as a combined spring game with a Killers concert afterwards they could probably sell pretty pricey tickets to it which would pay the band for their performance.

Not sure if the crossover between people who want to see the spring game and people who like the Killers is enough though.  Plus there would be no time to setup, and rock concerts generally have a huge amount of setup involved

I bet money would get them there. Call me crazy but paying a band an enormous amount of money will get them to play anywhere. If you meet there money demands they would probably play in your backyard.

My company got us a private face to face concert with Imagine Dragons immediately after their Grammy award and SNL appearance in 2014, by paying them.

It also helped that it was at a convention in South Beach in February.

Most of the crowd did not even know who they were.  A woman texted her daughter to tell her who this mystery band was.  The daughter's comment: "You have no idea how big this is."

They could have gone all rock star attitude on us corporate dweebs, but they were cool about it.  They said the small venue with a handful of people reminded them of when they were starting out in Las Vegas.  They even played a couple of '80 cover tunes for the old people.

i know we can't edit posts, but switch out "how do we" to "should we" and you got yerself a non-crappy post.

i'd also point out that betteridge's law of headlines (link) applies, either way.

Prior to the B1G schedule change, Michigan was to play at home against Penn State on October 8, 2022; and Detroit was also the last U.S. tour stop of The Killers on that same date. However, with the new schedule change, Michigan is now at Indiana on 10/8.

When I was in MMB in the 80s we had some celebrity from Earth, Wind, and Fire guest direct the band for one of their numbers. Way past his prime and it was still nearly impossible to get him to come. 110k is not an attraction for stars in their prime. I would love to see the Killers at Michigan Stadium, but no, it is just a dream. It will not happen. Sorry for the cold dose of reality.

Edit: maybe in 20 years
