Looks like I was beat to the punch
December 30th, 2018 at 1:43 PM ^
Well you included Metellus in your post so you beat me on that.
December 30th, 2018 at 4:24 PM ^
Has Martellus decided yet? That guy has options.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:41 PM ^
Good start, time for Long to announce he is staying too.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:59 PM ^
Leaning the wrong way right now, but who knows.
December 30th, 2018 at 2:06 PM ^
Wasn't he 60-40 the other day? What changed?
December 30th, 2018 at 4:35 PM ^
Hmmm, what has happened over the last few days? I wonder...
December 30th, 2018 at 6:12 PM ^
The dude has no idea what he is talking about is what changed.
December 30th, 2018 at 4:07 PM ^
Yeah seems like he would have announced with the other two if he was coming back.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:42 PM ^
We needed them.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:46 PM ^
Think Gentry is gone?
December 30th, 2018 at 1:55 PM ^
Muhammad and Eubanks will be fine replacing Gentry if he leaves.

December 30th, 2018 at 1:46 PM ^
UMB11, is the rumored internal strife regarding injuries and lack of communication something that has had an impact on the performance of the defense in the last part of the season? The D just seems to have fallen off a cliff in a way I never would've expected.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:43 PM ^
This is good news! Really helps with depth next season.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:49 PM ^
Excellent
December 30th, 2018 at 1:49 PM ^
This is excellent. Hopefully we can upgrade the other safety position. I know that we will be missing some incredible defensive ends and an all American linebacker. The team coming back next year its going to be a lot of fun. It is time to take that next step and beat osu.
December 30th, 2018 at 2:28 PM ^
Is this a copy and paste from last year? The next UM team to beat osu will not have a coach named Harbaugh. Your enthusiasm is adorable, your grasp on reality needs some work though.
December 30th, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
Have you heard of a kid named Daxton Hill?
December 30th, 2018 at 1:50 PM ^
So when will Ambry Thomas play? Move him to offense if he can’t play on D. Wasting his athletic ability on the bench.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:52 PM ^
Next year. Watson is out of eligibility and played a ton this year. Ambry is either CB2 or 3 next year, depending on if Long also returns.
December 30th, 2018 at 6:44 PM ^
one would argue they failed in having Ambry ready for the OSU game. Could have used his speed there.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:56 PM ^
Good, this team has all the potential in the world next season! Please Harbaugh hire Brian wright or mike yurchic and we can maybe have some fun next year
December 30th, 2018 at 1:58 PM ^
Yurchic would be far down my list. OK St fans hate him and attribute most of his success to Gundy/the NFL talent he had. They all want him gone today.
December 30th, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
Isn’t that what fans do? How many coordinators are thought of in a positive way by their own fans?
December 30th, 2018 at 1:57 PM ^
While I think it both guys made the right decision coming back, I think it says more about the program. If it’s as bad as some think or report, why would someone with an NFL shot come back? I think Lewan said it best, not everyone is cut out to be a Michigan Man
December 30th, 2018 at 4:22 PM ^
Not quite sure Lewan embodied what we like to think of as a ‘Michigan Man’ very well.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:58 PM ^
Assuming Dax takes over for Kinnel, it'll be nice to have as much experience in the secondary as possible
December 30th, 2018 at 2:19 PM ^
Or even if Metellus moves to Kinnel's spot and Dax into Metellus' we're good, which seems more likely to me.. Either way elite speed in the back-end is a must! Haven't had that since Delano Hill and Dymonte Thomas were here..
Brown's system absolutely NEEDS fast safeties (that can cover too) to function properly. I like Metellus and Kinnel but they were not ideal for this system and it showed a lot the past two years.
December 30th, 2018 at 2:31 PM ^
Put Dax on the guy most likely to run the slant. Rise and repeat.
December 30th, 2018 at 8:10 PM ^
No way Metellus plays deep safety. He's just as challenged on the foot speed front. If your safeties can't cover in this defense then you better be able to play zone and we can't play zone worth a shit.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:58 PM ^
That’s a big piece of the puzzle!
December 30th, 2018 at 2:02 PM ^
Kimble: Do you remember what I told you in the tunnel?
Gerard: I remember it was noisy. Well, I think you said something like... "you didn't kill your wife."
Kimble: Remember what you told me?
Gerard: I remember you were pointing my gun at me.
Kimble: You said, "I don't care."
Gerard: Yeah, Richard, that's right, I don't care. I'm not trying to solve a puzzle, here.
Kimble: Well, I am trying to solve a puzzle. And I just found a big piece. (puts the phone down on the desk and leaves)
December 30th, 2018 at 2:29 PM ^
Cosmo: when i die, I wanna come back just like you...
Sam: what’s that, happy and handsome?
December 30th, 2018 at 2:01 PM ^
Was Metellus really considering leaving for the draft? That seems like ray Jackson announcing he’s coming back for his junior season to me
December 30th, 2018 at 2:04 PM ^
D still should be a top 20 unit next season.
December 30th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
I’m hopeful we are Top 5. Given Don Brown’s track record, we should fall too close to 20.
December 30th, 2018 at 2:12 PM ^
Let's hope they won't skip the future 2019 bowl game (if we get there) to prep for the NFL.
December 30th, 2018 at 2:28 PM ^
+1 underrated
December 30th, 2018 at 2:18 PM ^
Where was Metellus going? The XFL relaunch?
December 30th, 2018 at 2:29 PM ^
Cale Gundy would be the guy I'd most like to see on the staff. Make him OC.
I do think it's time for Jay to take the next step elsewhere and would be happy to see Jim and Mike Hart make amends.
December 30th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
Dan Enos...

Lincoln calls the shots for Okla. Although i would gladly take him
December 30th, 2018 at 2:35 PM ^
Well that is good I guess. Hopefully a exit post for a certain coach(es) soon to follow.
December 30th, 2018 at 3:08 PM ^
Zordich?
December 30th, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
This is a bright spot. With at least Hill, Hill, Thomas and Metellus....the defensive back field should be decent with more speed.
90% of the offense is coming back and with some new oline recruits for competition, the oline should improve more. Charbonnet hopefully replaces the loss of Higdon.
If Hinton can make an impact, the defensive line will be fine. Uche, kemp, Hinton, Hutchinson, Solomon, Paye, vilian, and Jeter. (Just need to play up to hype/potential and stay healthy).
Michigan played poorly against OSU and Florida, but still had a good season... not great but good. It is actually a great thing that the fan base is not accepting or happy with 10 win seasons. That is a big improvement from 2008-2014 where hoping for 8 wins was the norm or even hoping for bowl eligibility. Harbaugh is 38-14, 2-1 against wisc, 2-2 against MSU, 3-1 against PSU, 3-0 against NW...really one glitch that needs to be fixed, the 0-4. Got a lot of monkeys off the back this season and 3 10 win seasons the last 4 is huge. Having Nd, MSU and OSU at home will be great. I can see being 10-1 or 9-2 facing OSU again for the East, hopefully with different results. Go blue!
P.s. please run some more spread, slants, screens to rb and pass to the talent!
December 30th, 2018 at 9:01 PM ^
Don’t forget Mazi Smith at DT, I think he has an equal chance with Hinton to make an impact his freshman year.
