Higdon Has Shot for Most 100+ Yard Games in a Season

I was curious how Karan Higdon's string of 100 yard rushing games this year stacks up to the great backs of Michigan history.

He currently has 7 and is in a tie for 10th with some pretty elite company:

Butch Woolfolk
Lawrence Ricks
Tony Boles
Tyrone Wheatley (twice)
Anthony Thomas

Two more puts him at 9 and tied for second with
Anthony Thomas
Mike Hart (twice)
Denard Robinson

3 more and he ties Jamie Morris for 10 at #1.

Should he accomplish this feat, he would still have any post regular season games to become the all-time leader.

Any way you slice it, he's having a great year.  Congrats, Karan!

Biakabutuka is may favorite word to say to Buckeye fans.   It causes an immediate short circuit with reactions that range from silence and blank stare with drool coming out their mouth... all the way to and immediate and reflexive poop in a cooler.

Of course you have to carefully diagnose since it can sometimes resemble "normal" Buckeye behavior.

Some people say he's not an NFL runningback. He'll get his shot. Once he gets done with school/classes and can improve his top end, he'll be tough to keep off of the field. The kid is fricking ripped, very quick and he's tough as nails.

Rutger will go all out to stop him.  Their strategy is to allow so many points early, that he'll be benched for the rest of the game after the 1st half.  Unfortunately, they're so good at this, it might work pretty well against Michigan.  I fear for Karan's 2nd half carries...

The problem is that Rutgers is so bad he may not get a chance to break 100. Run for 15 on the first play? Great. The next play might be a PA pass or a run to Evans and go yard.

Come in the next drive. Runs for 20. Tru comes in. 2 plays later it's first and goal from the 3, in comes Mason.

Higdon could run for 250 in 10 carries. Or he could run for 70 in 7 carries and not see the field again because it's 42-0.

To think he could’ve easily had another 100 yard game if he’d played against SMU. But I imagine he’s going to make up for it today and then some.

Cant imagine Harbaugh is going to do much more today than ground and pound against a terrible defense, keep Shea away from harm, and get out of there with a W.

I smell another 150 yard day, at least, from Higdon. Bet he’s sure glad he came back. He’s got to be popping up on quite a few NFL radars right now.

These backs are all capable. Strangely/ironically I assess Evans as having both the highest ceiling and being the least trustworthy. Michigan needs the "good Evans"...the "bad Evans"-not so much.

Not to get the cart before the horse but next year is going to be very interesting. I think Charbonnet is going to be given a legitimate shot very early on. I'll soon be 66-I do not recall a Michigan back with his punishing style of running...he is so Le'Veon Bellish-the patience and jump cut are eerily similar.

Gosh, just reading those names above... that’s some very good company indeed. Makes me appreciate even more the work the offensive line has done this season. Go Blue!

i love the fact that Harbaugh has stuck with one guy. A RB needs 25-30 carries to get into the rhythm and eventually break a big run. Higdon has earned it. I would never have guessed that we would run the ball this well 9 games into the season. Go Blue! BEAT RUTGERS!
