I don't understand. James Coco went mad in 15 minutes
December 11th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
We need to get him to "Wash Myself With A Rag On A Stick" big.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
I hope we keep going after Van Fillinger. He may need time to bulk up, but he’s definitely projected to be a DT down the line.
December 11th, 2019 at 6:36 PM ^
Won’t be room for him sorry
December 11th, 2019 at 3:05 PM ^
Welcome aboard. I love keeping the Florida pipeline going.

A bolt of good news for football!!! Welcome to the DL!!
December 11th, 2019 at 3:54 PM ^
Hope it doesn't mean Kwity is leaving.
December 11th, 2019 at 5:03 PM ^
His size suggests he is more in line with another high school OLB/DE Josh Uche...who already is out the door.
December 11th, 2019 at 7:15 PM ^
Read an article on earlier where he said they told him that's what they plan on doing with him.
December 11th, 2019 at 7:32 PM ^
Wasn’t Uche 20lbs lighter out of high school?
December 11th, 2019 at 5:53 PM ^
Hes more of a pure pass rusher like Uche than he is like Kwity. Kwity will be a senior next year, recruiting an incoming freshman has pretty much nothing to do with a possible junior leaving. Recruiting is done further in advance.
if you’re recruiting to fill next season’s holes, you’re failing as a coach. You recruit to fill holes 2-3 years down the line.
December 11th, 2019 at 6:23 PM ^
At least on either line, you do.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:11 PM ^
Where was Sam's gut on this one as I did not listen to the recruiting roundup in the last few days?
December 11th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
I told everyone on the board to watch his name but everyone shrugged me off, I guess that’s the life of a nobody blogger lol

Please link to said comment so you can really rub it in that you were right.

You don't get acknowledged as an insider unless you say things like "speight will probably start" or "gary will probably not play unless things change but they could so he probably will"
December 11th, 2019 at 5:54 PM ^
I’m no insider, just have a friend in the football office. Nothing major either just a secretary but she gives me small info here and there.
December 11th, 2019 at 6:38 PM ^
Set the hooks and keep her around. We need MOAR info!
December 11th, 2019 at 9:38 PM ^
Better get this nice lady something for Christmas
December 11th, 2019 at 3:12 PM ^
Wow! Kid had two CB's, one for FSU and one for Florida. Nice to snag one right of their backyards! Welcome, Jaylen! Go Blue!
December 11th, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
Weird. It's almost like UM is one of the ten-ish best programs in the country or something.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
Awesome!
Now go win a championship, which is something top ten-ish programs should do once every 20 years.
December 11th, 2019 at 8:36 PM ^
Well the last one was 15 years ago. You may remember some coaching changes after that period, and maybe like 10 years there where Michigan was not a Top 10 program.
Then Harbaugh came and Michigan was once again a Top 10 program. Unfortunately the vacuum in Ann Arbor for nearly a decade allowed our enemy to the south free reign in the region. They took ample advantage, and have been at Top 3 levels of Death Star -ness in that period. Hard to win a title with them and another Top 10 program in PSU residing in your own 7 team division.
You can either celebrate the wins for a while until they figure out how to get the ring into Mordor, or you can Unacceptable all day long. The choice is yours.

'Bout f*cking time! Oh wait. . .

doesn't this school care about any interior lineman anymore???

December 11th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
People are speculating that Donny B. wants a full time 3-3-5 or 3-4.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Honest question: is that going to get it done in the Big Ten where you face the ground-and-pound meat slab that is Wisconsin, Iowa or (to much lesser extent) Minnesota each season?
I'll trust DB as an X and Os guy for now but I'm honestly just wondering if going to a smaller yet more speedy 3-3-5 or 3-4 gets it done in those games. I guess I can see the 3-4 if you have a massive man in the middle to potentially take 1-2 blocks right? Isn't this why / how the Pats and Steelers have been successful with it for so long?
Ultimately, I just never want to see a linebacker like Glasgow lining up, hand in the dirt on goal-line vs Wiscy ever again.
Welcome aboard to this young man!
December 11th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
We don't play Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota every year. You have to be able to use more than one formation according to circumstances. We're talking about what would be the base.
December 11th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
People keep bringing up Wisconsin as if they are always going to have Taylor in the backfield. Michigan played Wisconsin last year and held Taylor mostly in check and gave up 2 long-ish runs to everyone else, and that was with a bunch of NFL-caliber offensive linemen. They held them to about 3 ypc in 2016 and that was with a Glasgow and Hurst in the middle, so not planets. A good scheme can beat teams like Wisconsin, as can a competent offense. What hurt Michigan against Wisconsin most this year was that Michigan turned the ball over a bunch and Jack Coan ran for 2 TDs and was 13/16 for like 10 FDs.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
You need bigger linemen when you go to 3 down.
December 11th, 2019 at 5:57 PM ^
Or at least ones that can hold the point of attack.
Generally though, 3-3-5-ish defensive lines aren't as bulky as 3-4 lines.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:24 PM ^
This escalated quickly. Was he a priority for a while or did we just start pressing him recently. Very nice offers.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Kid had interest for awhile. Couldn’t get time for a visit until recently. Garrett Rivas is his coach, so M had his ear for a minute.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
Interesting. For the longest time i figured we would land Antwaun Powell at wDE and call it a day. How things change.
December 11th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
yeah i wanted them to land powell too. hes clearly more explosive and a better pass rush prospect than harrell. the staff heavily pursued powell early on and seemed like he was the priority at that spot - then i think they stopped recruiting powell for some reason so they mustve unearthed something.
not to disparage harrell as hes a nice prospect and the staff obviously likes his potential. powells get off and closing burst just jumped out as traits brown would seem to covet
December 11th, 2019 at 10:25 PM ^
IIRC, Michigan was in the driver's seat for Powell when they suddenly backed off due to a shoulder injury. Florida swooped in.
December 11th, 2019 at 3:33 PM ^
Citrus Bowl already paying off.
