As if I needed another reason to hate Ohio State.
When I worked for the football program in the 90s, I got to know him up personally. He was a fine coach, but he was the biggest asshole on the entire staff. Arrogant, entitled, soulless, opportunistic egomaniac. When he arrived from Texas A&M (where he coached the "Wrecking crew") he acted as if he was the savior, then jumped to rival ND when Lou Holtz retired. He treated support staff and players who weren't stars like chattel, and treated ex-players with indifference when they would come back to visit.
(yes, I know most college coaches have some degree of egomania, but his was another level, even on a staff with some massive egos - e.g. Cam Cameron, Les Miles)

What he did was shitty and disloyal to his players and colleagues. You don’t take your inside information and go directly to your teams primary rival

We are 4-3 against teams with Mattison on the sideline. 3-3 against Notre Dame and one epic beatdown against Florida.

Look. I understand the move. He's a good D-coordinator, and he deserves a promotion.
If you noticed, in '15, when he was interim D-coordinator, the defense was more than dominant.
But accepting OSU's cash is a bit more than disgusting to me.
