Harbaugh Pistol Offense

Submitted by Tate on

So I found this last night on a deep plunge into the internet. I'm not sure if this is news to all, but it was certainly surprising to me.

So the possibility of him being a joke is worth reading the constant Morris bashing any time the QB race is mentioned? If Auerbach was making thoughtful, well-articulated, insightful arguments then that would be fine. But all he does is spew ridiculous, sometimes personal Morris hate filled with baseless opinions he tries to pass off as fact, over and over again. That kind of stuff shouldn't be allowed on this board.

Can someone ban this guy? I mean, he doesn't add anything to board other than shitting on one particular member of the team. I know we're all entitled to our opinions but the way presents his opinion annoys me and if the world doesn't revolve around me who else would it revolve around?

It's a very flexible formation that gives you a lot of options for a power running game, a mis-direction running game and a play-action passing game.  It tends to keep more back in the backfield, meaning you are down some WR's so we'll see how it affects the vertical passing game, but you don't HAVE to keep backs in--you can go 1-back pistol too.

If this is our primary formation I'm all for it.

It is sort of counterintuitive, but if you have one-on-one matchups you can win on the outside, then it makes sense. If you put three backs in the backfield, the defense will usually put 8 or 9 guys in the box to stop the run. Then you have a lot of options with what you can do on the outsde in one-on-one coverage.
