"I really enjoyed it while I was at Stanford and I want to be able to communicate the michigan message ...... punctuation is important, yes."

The Fort is alive and well.  Harbaugh is a master at answering a slightly different question than the one he is asked and not giving the interviewer the story he wants.  And he did it in a way that Mike and Mike were impressed instead of pissed.

I have to say it's pretty hard watching or listening to these interviews. Harbaugh says the same thing as in the presser and the questions are either lay ups or he basically avoids them. It's fine with me bc I'd rather hear stories from other guys about what conditioning is like, what conversations with him are like, etc. But his fall pressers are gonna be very very vanilla.

While he isn't the most dynamic person over the radio, I really liked the interview. I wish they would have asked about filling out his staff, though. And three cheers for a coach who not only talks about the importance of not cheating but also the importance of punctuation on twitter!!

I wanted questions about his staff and recruiting. At least get him to see "oh we have a few guys who I can't officially say anything about, but they're here."

JH not watching a lot of tape on this team, says everyone gets a fresh start and he wants to make his own evaluations. That's expected, but good to hear. Also answered a question regarding Hoke's players vs his recruits by saying "these are my guys". Perfect answer to that question. His relationship with, and respect for, Hoke will greatly benefit him with the current roster.

Is anybody surprised that Harbaugh is boring and non-responsive in interviews and pressers (aside from the occasional "gobble gobble turkey" type crack). Haven't you ever seen a Harbaugh presser before? He's somewhere between Lloyd (who barely concealed his contempt for the media) and Hoke (who was friendly and personable but rarely ever actually answered a question).

On whether he has the NCAA compliance book down pat yet: "Getting there. Looking forward to taking my recruiting test. Following the rules, whatever line of work you're in, that's another lesson we learned from coach Schembechler – if you have to cheat to win, then you haven't won, you've actually lost."

They replayed and analyzed parts of this interview on 95.7 out here in the Bay Area and they said it seemed like he was missing the pros. They said things like "He's in a tough spot because he can't leave right away." It's amazing how people read their preconceived notions into things.
