Call me old fashioned, but I like my HC to not be interviewing on National Signing Day. Let’s get him out of here. Thanks for this last year, enjoy Kirk Cousins.

What do you mean? It's SIGNING DAY not recruiting day.

What trying are you talking about?

The day is there to sign guys. If you're not signing anyone, there is no significance.

The work happens long before Wednesday.

Wednesday is about a fax, a phone call, and a press release. That's it.

I know you know this already. So what is going on? It's not like Harbaugh would be sitting in his office working the phones like an election.

There is nothing for him (or anyone on his staff) to do.

Yes. There is work done on that day. Look at the stories about Rashan Gary wavering between Michigan and Clemson in the final hours. We've had late signees before that have come out of nowhere like Dennis Norfleet and Willie Henry. I'd rather my head coach is in Schembechler Hall that day than spending most of it in an airplane even if it ends up uneventful.

They're making it up to make themselves feel better.

There isn't any significance to Wednesday's signing day for Michigan.

Harbaugh has been recruiting his tail off and telling those recruits he'll be back at Michigan.

He's doing the job and he's taking a day to go on a job interview. I realize he's not like everyone else, but that's kinda what everyone else does.

But the important piece is that he's doing his job. He's on the road, he's in Schembechler, he's on the calls, he's making the offers, he's filling out his staff.

People's feelings are hurt and that's causing them to make up all kinds of insane, asinine shit.

We can debate the merits of what Harbaugh is doing right now. Personally, I'm not going to hold it against anyone when they decide to accept an interview for the highest-level job in their industry. Especially when all evidence points to them continuing to give their energy to their current job.

But, while what I just said is a matter of opinion, you can't just make shit up to suit your agenda. All these takes about Harbaugh not recruiting, not caring about the team, etc are not at all in accordance with the evidence.

The second he lands in Minnesota Warde needs to inform him the University is moving on from him and pay him his low buyout. Announce Harbaugh is persuing NFL opportunities and Michigan will be looking for a new HC.

This fanbase is unbelievable. This is exactly the reaction that people should have... if he were interviewing for another college job. This is the NFL. There's no comparison to college ball except for 1 of the 32 franchises, in which case... there is a comparison and it's not favorable. THAT would be a lateral (if short) move and I wouldn't blame people for the level 10 butthurt.

Amen. This site is so full of drama queens just itching for any excuse they can find to start bitching.

I am not happy Harbaugh is looking at any other job but he has the right to do so. I also don't  blame him after all the shit he has taken from Michigan fans the last several years. A year ago you all wanted him gone and now you may get your wish.

At least the man would leave the program in much better shape than it was when he took it over.

1-5, 3-4, and 1-5. He hasn’t been the coach we thought we were getting. He has been good, but not great.

Let’s stop pretending he has been a huge success here because he hasn’t. If he leaves he is leaving behind h program stronger than he found it. That is true. But he also leaves a legacy of spotty performances. Can UM do worse? Sure. But they can also do better.

Sorry but Jim has brought this on himself with all his nonsense about how he would do this job for free, and NO-body has it better than us, etc etc.   A huge part of his appeal to the fanbase was his passion for Michigan and all of his ties to the area.   If its just another job to him then he is just another coach who can be easily replaced. It won’t be too difficult to find someone else who can beat OSU once in 7 years and lose almost every other big game we play.

Is it messed up that I’d rather him go at this point? Recruits aren’t going to commit to this man if he obviously wants to go to the NFL.

Got damn this is dragging and dragging.

Heard Sam say today that Tucker is just pissing all over us with recruits. Which , duh of course, but man …the wolves are out and are a howlin

Either way, can this shit wrap the hell up this week.

I was never in the fire Harbaugh camp...

but if he leaves like this, to the Vikings no less.....

don't let the door hit ya' where the good lord splits ya

there will be at least 1 insignificant Michigan fan that will never root for him again. Really Jim?  The Vikings?

Harbaugh is his own worst enemy. If he doesn’t repeat this years performance fans will be screaming for him to be fired. The reasoning is he was distracted by the NFL and his hearts not in it. At this point you have to wonder why he will stay long term. When people look to leave their job rarely do they ever appreciate staying and not accepting a new one. The reasons you want to leave don’t change because of money.

My biggest fear in this scenario is that Harbaugh leaves, players hit the transfer portal, Michigan cannot replenish through the portal. Michigan is now back in rebuild mode that will take at least 3 to 4 years through recruiting. Recruiting that will be lackluster because in the present we will be getting our heads kicked in on the field. So don't give me this line that Harbaugh left the program better than he found it. This can go south quickly and tank the program. The only way to stop this is hire internally and commit to Gattis who I don't believe is a UM caliber HC. So Michigan is damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Every day is like that episode of Family Guy where they keep playing Surfin’ Bird over and over.

Some new rumor is tweeted and then:

-someone says “Hire Campbell!”

-then someone says “No he never beats his rival! Hire Fickell!”

-then someone says “Fickell ain’t comin! Hire Gattis!

-then someone says “Gattis has only had one good year!”

-ad infinitum

Manuel is getting played by Harbaugh. First, he apparently tries to appease Harbaugh by letting him hire coaches with no assurance he will even stick around. Now, he apparently consents to letting his head coach openly search for another job. Hey Manuel, how about “finding a Michigan man to coach Michigan.” Time for Manuel to stop acting like a doormat.

Warde got extremely lucky on how things worked out after losing Beilein. He better pray he gets lucky again if this happens. Losing your top two guys is not good, I don’t care where they ended up.
