Harbaugh Is a Cord Cutter
Lost in the shuffle of Ryan Day making an ass of himself was some great content from the one and only Jim Harbaugh:
“I was watching. My wife got this YouTube TV. It’s like half the price of DirecTV. No offense DirecTV,” Harbaugh said. “We’re over there on YouTube TV now. There must be 150 games to watch. So I’m in hog heaven on Saturday night watching those games. Watched a lot of them.”
Harbaugh proceeded to marvel at YouTube TV’s unlimited recording features and the ability to restart games that have already started.
“Then you go back and watch them again,” he said. “If you didn’t watch the one, it’s like taped for you right there. So yeah, I was — I don’t know if I learned anything. Just bouncing around, watching a lot of football.”
There you have it. No more cord cutting threads. Everyone must get YTTV now.

I finally got around to watching the 4-games at a time view on YTTV and.. it's awesome! You can't pick which 4 games but generally there's at least 2 that are of interest.

Awesome find Jim, welcome to 2018! I can't wait until he figures out 4 screen multi-view and Sunday Ticket to watch his brother on Sundays.
In fairness it was hard to give up DTV after 20 years. My last monthly DTV bill was $250 and I had to ship all 6 HD receiver boxes back to them when I terminated.

2018? More like 2007

YTTV is worth every penny for the dvr feature alone.
Multi-view is cherry on top. You go JH, preach it.

Yeah, having commercials on all four screens at once is a pretty magical experience. :)

I had 8 games up on two screens for a while last Saturday and at one point 7 of them were at commercial at the same time. Never managed an 8-for-8 though.

Love how a coach who makes millions of dollars is still cost conscious. This is a lesson for all of us.

This man is a national treasure, I hope he stays at UM for a long, long time.

What does he spend his money on? No cable/satellite TV and gets his haircut at Great Clips. What other money saving habits can I learn from Jim?

Cutting a cord of wood is a lot of exercise. Whole milk + steak make strong.

Only if it's Milk Steak over hard, with a side of raw jellybeans

I love that Jim - making millions per year - is excited about saving like $75/mo on his cable

Yeah OK, but why doesn't Michigan run the FB dive anymore Sione Houma & Joe Kerridge style?

Just did at the new house with the 4 games screen feature and loved it. Got the 4K feature for the limited features/games broadcast in it but will be cool. Saving $30 plus a month with much better control and choice/quality and little of the garbage channels forced on me.

Cord cutting used to be about not paying the cable bill and jerry rigging some sort of DVR. YouTubeTV is like $70/month which is more than cable. It is just cableTV through the internet. For the past 6-7 years I have had an antenna, an Amazon Fire DVR (no monthly fee) and Netflix. Though I did sign up for a 5 day YouTubeTV free trial to get the Rutgers game.
Speaking of Netflix. Michelle Wolf has a series of standup shows on it right now. In the third episode she makes a joke about Harbaugh's khakis. Got to love that Harbaugh's pants and TV watching choices are news.

...So what's the joke? Nothing against Michelle Wolf but don't make me go watch 5 hours of her stand up to find it.

Not necessarily the best joke in the world, but cool that Jim Harbaugh is so famous that his pants are a part of popular culture.

He also has the team spending time at every practice on becoming (Kyle Mc)Cord Cutters when they face Ohio State.

YTTV is unbelievable
Just got it with NFL ticket.
Best money ever spent due to all things mentioned above

I have no cord to cut, so I had to choose a streaming option. Fubo was good, but YTTV was cheaper. It is definitely the best option for me.
September 26th, 2023 at 10:23 PM ^
YouTube TV is more or less the same price as DirecTV streaming. Unless he means old-world satellite DirecTV -- does that even exist anymore?
September 26th, 2023 at 10:38 PM ^
In coach we believe! Cut the cord earlier this year after over a decade of Dish TV and that was good riddance.

It’s like when a President can’t figure out how to use a credit card to buy groceries because they have not done it so many years.

Got rid of cable years ago. I pay for YoutubeTV during FB season then pause it (which you have to keep re-pausing or they charge you). Rest of the year - there's plenty of free, quality content on YT if you look for it.
