Wow dude. This news has really made you come undone. You have lost yourself and betrayed your true identity. Give yourself a time out. Take some deep breath and come back with a slightly less hysterical theme tomorrow and see if you can blend in a bit.

No detail in that story, but the author sure had to remind the world that Harbaugh sniffed the NFL the last two years.  Thats the only story here - clickbait that Harbaugh might look at the NFL again.

BTW, fuck the NCAA.  If they insist on doing anything, go scorched Earth and remind the world about what the NCAA has allowed to go unpunished in merely the last 10 years.  The whole idea about 'agreeing' to any suspension whatsoever should've been a non-starter from the moment the NCAA brought it up.  Whoever 'agreed' to it on Michigan's side should be fired.  (If you think Jim MF'ing Harbaugh agreed to it, JFC...  I can't help you.)

It’s hilarious to read all the profanity comments. Does cussing in your comments make you feel like a big man?

Harbaugh screwed up - if he doesn’t wise up this will end terribly for Michigan. I think we’re already losing recruits. Harbaugh thinking he is privileged and can do no wrong is a bad look to  anyone other than a Michigan fan.

Elias Rudolph trending to flip to Miami - The twins could be headed to Kentucky. Harbaugh is giving recruiters ammo to flip recruits. This isn’t gonna end well for Michigan if Harbaugh doesn’t accept his licks and move on if he gives a crap about his team and coaching staff.

His attitude will land him in the NFL and Michigan will be on the rebuild again

See, when you make claims such as buying burgers, telling the NCAA to hit the bricks and recruits are fleeing the program you sound obviously ridiculous.  You believe Michigan will "rebuild" if Harbaugh leaves?  I will love to hear this take.  Realist.  Yup, username .......

edit: this was a reply to one of MGRealists posts.

Swearing generally makes me feel better.

Also, Harbaugh, right or not, could take the approach to a recruit that says, ‘hey Mr. 3-5 star, you know that organization that doesn’t want you getting paid and flips out when I buy you a burger for breakfast because it had Swiss cheese instead of cheddar because cheddar is a violation? Yea, fuck ‘em. I’ll get you drafted.’ I very well could be wrong, but that’s a message with some meaning.

One of the ironies of swearing is that sometimes the same parents for whom swearing is automatically a corporeal punishment offense, they also congratulate their children for using denigrating language to bully other children.

There will always be people who's every fifth word is some variation of f***, but there are plenty of other people who use it relatively sparingly. It's my opinion that sometimes swearing can be used emphatically in a way that no other words can.

(That's just my opinion and I've been know to be full of fucking shit.)

Does people cussing offend your delicate sensibilities? Piss off and stop pretending to be on some moral and/or intellectual highground. You're a dipshit that trolls a rival fansite, or worse yet, are a contrarian that isn't happy unless he's pissing others off. Prolonged trolling is a sign of mental illness, seek help.

WELP. hopefully this is just Michigan calling the NCAA’s bluff that they have nothing punishable and not that there are heavier sanctions coming after the drawn out investigation. Kind of just wanted to get this all over with.

No worse things are coming. The worst that could have come from it was Harbaugh serving a 4 game suspension. Which is crazy itself. Maybe Michigan will offer to reduce scholarships by 10 for a few seasons. The NCAA would love that and Michigan won’t give a damn. As Brian has stated, scholarships no longer matter. But it would make the NCAA feel good, like they’ve really punished them.

Do you remember that little “academic concern” raised by former athletes at North Carolina - who complained, after graduating, that their classes and degrees were fraudulent - and they couldn’t be employed because they didn’t learn anything - or have any skills.

What happened to that?   What did the NCAA do?

Just to clear up the misperceptions on this case, the NCAA investigated, determined that athletes didn't gain any "benefits" that other students did not, and rightfully concluded that the NC case was one to be dealt with by the academic credentialing authority, which it was.

We should be encouraging the NCAA to butt out more often with issues not of concern to college sports, not less often.

Interesting that the one reporter who claimed to know that a 4-game suspension was going to happen is now the one reporter who claims to know the reason a 4-game suspension is not going to happen.

I certainly agree that is one possibility here.

Given the fact that the original story ended up not being true, it worked out pretty conveniently for Yahoo though, didn't it? Nothing happened, and yet they had 2 enormous scoops in the process of nothing happening.

No, I think the original report was by Ross Dellenger. This is from Wetzel. Both at Yahoo.

I don’t really blame Ross for reporting something that someone at the NCAA apparently gave straight to him, but he has been known to report spin from coaches verbatim without critically analyzing it. I assume he at least verified the info with someone but who knows—his second source may have been at NCAA as well. I like both Ross and Dan on their podcast, but think Wetzel is better at this.

I'm glad we are telling the NCAA to pack sand.  However, I have this feeling coach bolts after this year.  He clearly has an itch to scratch.  He is constantly talking up how his assistants are going to be head coaches some day and he has to hate the NCAA.  I don't think he ever agreed to a new deal.  Either way, the NCAA can piss off.  They are a joke.

He would have left already if that were the case.

The teams he most likely would have gone to(Bears, Colts) hired younger coaches which seems to be the trend these days in the NFL.

It takes two to tango. Harbaugh has been out of the league close to a decade now and he is known for a being a pain in the ass. The NFL has to want him and I am not at all sure that is the case.

Love Harbaugh - man of integrity fighting the NCAA on point of principle rather than than accepting a weak nominal punishment for something he feels he is wrongly accused.

I thought things were curiously quiet after the initial news of a suspension.

That doesn't mean I would have predicted a delay till after the season, and instead though it might be longer or shorter..

Still, it did seem strange that nothing happened. Now we know why.

This is it, Jim will be gone after this year, he has the team to win it all, next year, well it’s going to be a good team but not comparable to this year.

The NCAA can fuck all the way off on this dumb bullshit.

Is buying burgers for recruits even still a violation?

They way overplayed their hand on this one.  Never had a pair and with jackball high pushed all their chips in.  It would have been an insult for Harbs to accept ANY punishment.  Not sure when the Harbaugh Hard-on is gonna finally go flacid but they prob need to go see a doctor on that.  I don't know how many coaches have gotten a penalty for throwing 8-1/2 x 11 sheets of paper into the air and hitting themselves with them and no one else but I certainly know one who has.  I would fight this shit to the bitter end and it would be nice for our AD to join the fight.

grumbler

The Level 2 violation wasn't buying hamburgers, it was contact with recruits during a period while that was impermissible.

And Harbaugh didn't buy the burgers as I understand it.  They were comp'd, but he did pay for the tip using a University credit card, thus providing the paperwork trail.

I have no idea what he could have said that would impede an NCAA investigation.  I can see him not recalling this tiny episode, but can't see how that stopped any investigation.  Equally, I can't see how the NCAA can demonstrate that his "lack of cooperation" was deliberate.

Moe evidence could change my opinion, but this looks right now to be a massive waste of time, resources, and money on the part of the NCAA.  I think that Harbaugh, if the facts show the matter to be as trivial as I currently believe it is, could probably get a court injunction to stop the NCAA engaging in restraint of trade.
