Another week closer to Michigan Football.  For the dog lovers out there here is the #1 dog compilation on YouTube.  There is no way dogs don't go to heaven.

There was a thread a few days ago about dog breeds. From what I've seen over the last couple of years, German Shepherds have become much more popular than they had been. Among fans of the breed, one of the nicknames is German Shedder, and it's accurate.

We've had three dogs: a Shepherd/Husky/Beagle mix; a purebred Chocolate Lab, and now our Lab/Shepherd mix. The first one shed like crazy, all year. Our Lab shed too, but it was mainly twice a year and easy to stay on top of.

Our current guy sheds constantly all year long, and there's no doubt it's the Shepherd in him. This is what I got off him in just one brushing last night. If I brushed him today, I'd get the same amount. It seems to never stop.

Shepherds are great dogs, but if you don't like dealing with dog hair, you might want to consider a different breed, even if it's a mutt like ours.

Nice pile o' hair!

I feel your pain with the shedding.  I have had a Golden and a lab, both of which were prolific shedders.  But they don't hold a candle to my current group - a rough coat collie (think Lassie), and a Great Pyrenees.  They're both blowing coat like a barn fan, too.  Add to that a few cats that are shedding machines.  My house has hairballs floating around 20 minutes after vacuuming - literally!

Much of our lawn is goddamn Creeping Charlie and very little actual grass. My wife doesn't want to use any herbicides so I'm stuck.

Speaking of beer: the furry object at the right in the pic below is a bottle opener given to me by our former next door neighbors who moved to Australia. You'll notice the top of the opener is in the shape of the continent.

The furry part on the bottom? It's supposedly made from a kangaroo scrotum.

Me too, VaBlue. Today is the deadline to get my 1st pass of the department budget submitted and the process could not be more tedious if I made things up. And for all of the work I'm putting in, most of my requests are likely to be ignored and funding will be slashed once again.

Hanging in there but can't wait for this to be done!

Go see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood if you like Tarantino films. There's a lot of dialogue and it's a slower burn but it's really good, the third act is simply amazing. The cast is great but Brad Pitt steals the show. Lots of humor mixed in as well. Of his 9 films, I'd personally rank this somewhere in the middle/upper third with Inglorious Basterds being my favorite.

First day I drive my "new" beater truck to work. Hours of searching FB marketplace and Craig's list and now I just hope it starts and I beat the plumber to the work site.

Sick of the heat, but know I'll be sick of the cold in 6 months so...

Ready for the weekend and most importantly, ready for some MICHIGAN FOOTBALL!
