Guest Picker on ESPN's College Gameday: Mr. Chow
I was guessing Magic Johnson or James Caan, but the ESPN College Gameday guest picker tomorrow will be Ken Jeong (Mr. Chow, of course).
He has no known ties to either school, but he was born in Detroit, so I guess that's the Michigan connection. I'm hoping he brings Alan along.

Zzzzzz

Could've been worse. Could've been Kirk Gibson.

Honestly would have rather had Gibby.

Fucking Gibson... I was on the boat that night, was the guy responsible for the entire front half of the thing, when the Dodgers trotted him and his gimpy leg out of the dugout to pinch hit. The mess deck was full of crew mates watching the drama, and I yelled out 'games over, he'll strike out - watched him for years with the Tigers, its what he does'.
What an asshole.
But I can easily admit that it's one of the defining moments of baseball's many walk off moments...

I would have loved to see Madonna as a guest picker. Shows my age. Neg away.

Ah yes, Ben "Señor" Chang. First diagnosed case of changnesia and former dictator of Greendale Community College.

Bear down for finals!

I just have one question. Does this game day panel have a little room in their pocket for some spare Chang.
By the way, my favorite show ever and I’ve seen every episode (other than the gas leak year) like 15 times.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:32 PM ^
Glad to know I’m not the only one that re-watches it.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:35 PM ^
We’ve got a pretty good guy who’s part of the regular cast
October 29th, 2021 at 8:41 PM ^
You gotta go with Professor/Señor Chang in the headline.

Love Community but this is stupid. Not Chainsmokers-stupid, but stupid.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:47 PM ^
Pretty weak selection.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:53 PM ^
Cool , I like Ken Jeong a lot, loved him on Community
October 29th, 2021 at 8:54 PM ^
Emperor Chang! I mean Security director Chang!
October 29th, 2021 at 11:21 PM ^
Caught on to the show late and only because Joel McHale used to have me rolling on Talk Soup.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:02 PM ^
Bringing him to East Lansing makes perfect sense. Ken even said it himself in Hangover II.
Holla, city of squalla!

Is Community worth another try? I watched the first few episodes and wasn't feeling it. Loved Parks and Rec, The Office, etc
October 29th, 2021 at 9:05 PM ^
It’s cornier than the others, fwiw
October 29th, 2021 at 9:21 PM ^
Yes, one of the best shows ever but it does tend to skew towards meta and referential humor, which if you are a TV and film junkie, makes the show amazing. Not for everyone though. Have yet to get a single person to love it, most especially my wife.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:35 PM ^
This is my favorite show of all time. It’s absolutely brilliant writing, however very “meta”.
The first episode is literally just establishing the characters and doesn’t have a whole lot of depth to it. I would immediately watch two or three more to see if it’s your cup of tea. If you’re anything like me you’ll get hooked pretty quick.
October 29th, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
I would really try to go 6-8 eps deep, b/c they really find their rythm as the season goes on
October 29th, 2021 at 10:42 PM ^
brilliant writing is code for "I get the jokes.' The most self-congratulatory complement out there.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:16 AM ^
That’s a very strange take. So the difference between Seinfeld and 2 Broke Girls is not that one has brilliant writing, it’s just that I don’t get the jokes in 2 Broke Girls…
October 30th, 2021 at 8:20 AM ^
I haven't watched Community, but I did watch about half an episode of 2 Broke Girls. So I can say without hesitation and with the full burden of proof that 2 Broke Girls sucked donkey balls.

I think its great...he's that one guy from that one thing. It's all about entertainment with these selections, why not? I will actually tune in to watch it, if only to calm my nerves for a bit.

That masked singer show is an abomination and should be scorched from human history. I thought it was fake for the longest time.
October 30th, 2021 at 7:16 AM ^
Worst show ever!
October 30th, 2021 at 7:45 AM ^
My wife watches that liquid refuse and this season they have a character called "the Mallard" which is CLEARLY a wood duck!!!!!! It gets to me every time
October 30th, 2021 at 8:24 AM ^
Can we just be done with the singing shows for a few years? I mean, after the first 5-6 years of American Idol, the whole thing went downhill.
Blah... I literally cannot remember the last time I watched network TV when it was actually on a first run. Unless the wife DVRs something that we watch later, I'm not watching it if its on network TV. And, to be honest, whatever the wife DVRs is not something I'll watch on my own.
BTW, present me with a show that has a laugh track, and you can fuck right off...
October 29th, 2021 at 9:38 PM ^
Or he’s promoting some Disney/abc/ESPN property
October 29th, 2021 at 9:51 PM ^
It'll be entertaining at least, though this remains my favorite "guy who was born in the state but otherwise doesn't really have any connection to the schools involved" (it was #1 FSU vs. Okie St.)
October 29th, 2021 at 10:15 PM ^
I am already pretty "on edge". A funny and completely random guy who doesn't make me think (and probably will not even talk) about either school will probably cut the tension a bit.
October 29th, 2021 at 10:41 PM ^
redacted.

I thought that was a restaurant

Aw, man. From the title, I thought it was going to be the proprietor of the late Ann Arbor dining institution Holy Chow.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:47 PM ^
He’ll probably enjoy EL. Many of the girls are known to drink until they blow chow. The men, too, NTTAWWT.
