Guess Today's Hoops Score - Be Loved by Wolverines, Feared by buckeyes

Submitted by xtramelanin on February 21st, 2021 at 9:21 AM

Mates,

Big, big game today.   Win and we are looking very solid to win the B10.  Lose it, and our path to the championship is still there but way more rocky.  I have seen spreads that ohio was favored by as much as 2.5 points, but at least this morning, ESPN has us as 1.5 pt favorites.  Today's question is simple:

1.  What will the score to this afternoon's basketball game be (and who wins)?

I will confess some BPONE about the game given how hot ohio has been, but we're a heck of a team.  Time to prove it.

Have a glorious Sunday,

XM

If you're not being a dick and post a respectful or insightful comment... generally a pretty good reception. Ask Maine Strength, or whatever his handle is on here.. he posts quite a bit, and usually recieves upvotes for his thoughts.

Of course their are people that downvote someone from the "otherside" immediately.. see my comment above getting blasted.. and that's what's wrong with America, but that's another converation altogether.

Have good Sunday, and hope we can all watch an enjoyable game my man.

OR, hoping you come back to this thread, question for you.  Seemed like to most of us at the officiating favored your team, particularly the whole thing about you guys getting and ones, meanwhile we get called for charges and blocks no matter what we did. I’m sure some of those homerism, but I think we’re fairly objective and some of it was not. So my question is simply this: did you or perceive that also?

Didnt get a chance to watch much of the second half... my 4 year old wanted to go sledding.. and I just can't argue with her on that, right? It did seem like OSU was getting more of the 50/50 calls for sure, I can't deny that. UM was shooting lights out from behind the arc, and OSU didn't have a response down low for your center (great player, his name is escaping me right now). Overall a good team win for you guys.. no question about it. I'll be rooting for both teams come March, unless/until they meet again in the tournament!

sledding is key this time of year, and good on you dad going up and down the hill with dear child.   and if i was going to be on the losing end of a tough game then 1000x even better to skip that game and go sledding.

you are a good egg. 10/10 would have a meal or beverage with you.  see you in AA in 20??.

10/10 would have a beverage or a meal with you as well... some of my best friends are UM fans, I don't get the instant animosity either of our fanbases displays towards the other... we're all just people... rooting for a team.

If I ever get Up North, my little one would love to see the farm.. hint hint! Might do her some good to milk a cow, her Dad as well. LoL.

we have muckers to fit nearly all sizes, so we can put you right to work. had the discussion last night at dinner about the timing and amount of livestock reloading.  looks like sheep are going to get the nod this week.  not set on cattle yet, i have to figure out who/how many for sale.

i would add that we have a couple of pretty tremendous sledding hills on the farm, so if you/she come up in the next month or so, we've got you covered in that regard as well.

This is a Michigan sports’ fan site. To expect people to like your neutral comments as an osu fan is naive and not bright. This is the Internet - choose where you invest your time wisely. if you are sensitive, don’t be a fool and post on the rival fans’ website.

One of two things:

1) Either Michigan comes out and looks like it’s still a game or two away from getting back to where it was pre-layoff and loses a close but incredibly frustrating game 71-65. OSU makes free throws down the stretch to put the game out of reach, and the hand-wringing around here about how this school can never beat its rival in a moment that truly matters will be nauseating.

2) Michigan comes out, makes a statement and wins by 10+. I don’t disagree that OSU is a very good team, but Michigan has a higher ceiling and if both teams play their best game, then I think that means Michigan wins, regardless of who’s court the game is played on. I hear all this talk from OSU fans about how Holtmann “gets the rivalry” and is so special because he all of a sudden decided to start issuing gold jerseys for wins over Michigan. I’m not dogging him for that. Whatever motivates your team. But it seems the narrative down there is as if Howard doesn’t give a crap about this rivalry compared to Holtmann, when the guy actually played in it. I have no doubt that Juwan wants this as bad as anyone. More than any of us, for sure.

I have no idea which one of these will happen, so let’s go with what makes me happy and just see #2 happen.

I have no idea so I’m going to guess with my heart 73-72 UM.

OSU is such a unique team I really can’t decide which matchups favor which team. Ultimately, as they say, defense travels and I think that will be the deciding factor.

2 pt swing today on the line...money coming in on Michigan's side.  I'm taking Ohio St. by 7...68-61.  Not a bad game by us but I think they (Washington, Ahrens) hit more shots than we can sink today and it's essentially a 1-2 possession game most of the way, or it is late...and Ohio St. hangs on with timely shooting and good play from Liddell.
