Griese going to the booth for MNF
Awesome for him, I think he is a great color commentator.

Brian Griese was knocked here in the game threads for going out of his way to be impartial when covering Michigan games. His color work is +1 Informative as far as I can tell.
Nothing can save MNF if the League continues to give it sick dogs as matchups.

What, you don't like watching the mediocrity that is the NFC East in primetime every f'n week?

It's my favorite thing of all time. I especially like hearing what Salvatore ("Sal") Anthony Nicholas Paolantonio has to say about the Eagles.

MNF used to be the best prime time, but SNF overtook that spot years ago. I don't watch either, of course. The NFL bores the hell out of me, except for the postseason. I watch most of those games.

I actually like when he's calling games. It's probably bc he sounds like his dad, and there was NOTHING better than Bob and Keith Jackson calling Michigan games in the late 90's. I always thought it was cool that ABC let Bob do so many of Brian's games.

I dunno man, I don't think they sound rhat much alike, maybe a little bit in some instances.
What I didn't like when he did M Games is he wasn't pro Michigan enough during games like Buckeye alumni are/were.

Soooo he was doing his job of being impartial...and you didn’t like that? Sounds like the bigger issue is the Buckeye slappies they put on broadcast.

I respect Chris Spielman as a man, but omg I went from loving him to hating him in a matter of a few years because all I heard was a Buckeye criticize, criticize, criticize our program.

They should team Brian back up with Keith Jackson.

That's just mean.

awesome for him. Rose Bowl MVP as a walkon. Glad to see he is prospering.
Meanwhile in other news. . ..Art Schlichter was gambling while in Prison and Troy Smith can't pass the alphabet test. . .

I think he'll do well there.

I'm glad for Brian, and I will miss him on college games (along with the games themselves).
Regarding MNF, I think it may be time to pull the plug. The match-ups are rarely marques games and I would think that teams (especially the visiting teams) would rather play on Sunday. The ESPN/MNF deal expires at the end of the 2021 season. I'm not sure if ESPN can afford $1 billion/year in the cable cutting era.

List of the top 10 former Michigan football and basketball players who became broadcasters. LINK.
Number three blew our mind!

I'd kick #8 off the list and replace him with Terry Mills. But that's just me.
They sure nailed it with #10 on that list, Jim Brandstatter. Well-deserved praise for his work as a color guy for Michigan and Detroit but telling full truth about Brandy's deficiencies at play-by-play.
Very glad too that they had Tom Harmon up at #3---yes, mind blown! Harmon, who I remember a bit from listening to him back in the 60s, was definitely top-notch as a broadcaster.

Me (1995): “Griese sucks! He’ll never win here.”
Griese (1997): “National Champion”
Me (1998): “I can’t see him in NFL much longer.”
Griese (2009): “I’ve had a nice lucrative career. I’m announcing my retirement.”
Me (2012): “Griese is a boring broadcaster. B league ESPN late nighter on west coast at best.”
Griese (2020): “Keep making predictions for me MGOBLOG loser.”
