I bought those as soon as they were available.  I believe there was a #2 on the back as that was his number with the Wizards/Bullets.  Oddly enough I have a Nike postcard sporting Chris in a Michigan jersey advertising the shoes on the back.  When I learn how to operate the site better I will upload it.  It should be a good conversation topic. #jonoliver

One of the most talented forwards in college basketball history.  It's a shame Beilein can't recruit guys like this.

Too true, as anyone can tell, Glen is my favorite player of all time, and his scoring record in the tourney will NEVER be broken.  Youtube has a great video of the 1989 Virginia Michigan game where Glen was on fiya.  He put us on his back and was the main reason we won it.  I can't believe the 1989 team isn't mentioned more.  The story of Frieder's demise and the run Fisher had is storybook stuff, and the performances of our guys was second to none.

I'm guessing that Craig Gaines is an msu grad. He has respert, cleaves, anagonye, draymond green, and izzo on his team. Only non-sparty is Acie Earl from Iowa which is quite the generation gap from the others...

There were one Sparty, one PSU alum, and a Sparty-PSU hybrid (PSU alum now on MSU faculty) on that Grantland panel. And to no surprise, their lists stick out like a sore thumb for homerism. Michael Weinreb (the PSU alum whom many of you may remember for his god awful Michigan football columns) has a just unbelievable list.

Michael Weinreb

• Fennis Dembo
• Jeff Lebo
• Sherman Douglas
• Bryce Drew
Tom Hovasse, Penn State
Coach: Bruce Parkhill (also Penn State)

Craig Gaines (https://www.linkedin.com/in/craiggaines)

• Shawn Respert
• Mateen Cleaves
• Aloysius Anagonye
• Draymond Green
• Acie Earl, Iowa
Coach: Jud Heathcote

Kirk Goldsberry (https://msu.edu/~kg/cv.pdf)

• David Robinson
• Stephen Curry
• Kendall Gill
• Mateen Cleaves
• Draymond Green
Coach: Tom Izzo

In their defense, there are a couple other people on there whose lists are pretty much based on their hometown or alma mater like Mark Lisanti looks like a huge Georgetown fan as his list is all Hoyas. There is one guy whose list looks like it is all Holy Cross which I actually found pretty amusing. But Weinreb's PSU list, much like his writing, is just depressing and pretty much more peak Weinreb.

Only guys I remember seeing play...

Mario Chalmers, Kansas (huge clutch shot and I hated that Memphis team)

Ali Farokmanesh, Northern Iowa (shooters gon shoot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDWYx3LVrPg)

Mitch McGary, Michigan (Syracuse, VCU, Jeff Whitney)

Trey Burke, Michigan (you know)

T.J. Sorrentine, Vermont (hit a 40' Jumper like it was nothing to help upset Syracuse)

Coach: Jim Larranaga, George Mason

Other players I liked watching: Kevin Pittsnogle, Kemba Walker, all of FGCU, CJ McCollum, Steph Curry & Gordon Haywerd

My dad went to Syracuse and I grew up in CT (big-time enemy territory because of UConn) and that game was devastating.  I still root for them unless they are playing Michgan.  That Sorrentine shot was some ice-cold shit.

Still remember the first time I rooted against SU and watched that Final Four game with my dad.  McGary had his "BITCH I AM WES UNSELD AND PAU GASOL AND WILT CHAMBERLAIN" game and I didn't speak to my dad for like three days afterward haha.

My list:

Pete Maravich

Lew Alcinder

David Thompson

Clyde Drexler

Glenn Robinson

Coach:  Tark

I was a young, young kid watching Maravich at LSU; he made me interested in college basketball; an absolute magician.
