Anyone from that class that hasn't played I wouldnt be surprised if they transfer. Dixon, Giudice, Bounds(has he played), Bennett. I wouldnt be surprised if Andrel ANthony transfers. I keep seeing people saying he's our new #1 receiver next year and I just do NOT see it.

I get your point.  The problem with transfers, though, is that it implies dissatisfaction within the program, and rumors often create their own feedback loops.  And sure, not everyone is satisfied -- Cade and All seemed to have left in a huff.  No one's asking you to play propaganda minister.  But speculative bad vibes are gonna make you unpopular.  You become the sports blog equivalent of that scandal-sniffing aunt always speaking in hushed tones throughout the Christmas family party.  No one cares if she's right or not; everyone just wants her to shut up.

While I wouldn't be surprised if a coach never went to MGoBlog for rumormill to spread on the recruiting trail, it certainly isn't beneath them.  Muckraking absolutely is a part of the dirty, dirty business of recruiting, and muckrakers are utterly shameless about how and where they get their filth.  Also, shit spreads -- what gets said here, appears elsewhere.

Speculate on who's the starter, speculate on what plays the team's working on, speculate on injury status, speculate on the size of Brian's. . . shoes, that's all whatever.  Give recruiters something they can use to go "I've been hearing" to HS kids and, well, it's not against the law or ToS, and probably does no real damage, but you're gonna eat some negs.

I have a feeling Andrel had a nagging injury this year and some issues adjusting to blocking responsibilities (which are a much bigger deal at UM than other places not as run oriented).

JJ and the receivers never seemed quite on the same page for most of the season until the OSU game.  We did enough to get there between the run game and intermediate passing game in all the other games. Cornelius Johnson and JJ were finally on the same page against OSU and it was just in time.

JJ and Andrel will get back on the same page during bowl practice and this off season.  Last year's MSU game was not a fluke...Andrel has talent - they just need to get the timing and connection right.

What it looked like to my untrained eye is Anthony and a handful of others outside of Bell have trouble reading coverages and understanding leverage. Put that with a young QB who is learning to make reads on the fly you get the janky sax passing game Michigan had for 11 games. OSU took those things out of the equation by running straight up man on man making those reads easier. There wasn't any window throwing in the OSU bombs it was go beat your man and I will throw it out there.  You heard Urban talk about our WR having to get open and their game plan certainly made that easier IMO. Most of the teams we played all season acted like we had no run game two high safeties which eliminated a bunch of opportunities down field for JJ and WR. Up until OSU we had done some good work underneath especially early in the season. OSU certainly didn't have that game plan and JJ and the WR exploited it. Day knew its a double edge sword and cuts both way. He was banking on JJ not being able to hit those over allowing us to bleed him on 15 play drives for TD's. He tried that in the 3rd quarter and Michigan obliged him. I think our passing game takes a huge step next year especially with JJ's ability to improvise.

Very good breakdown. I'll really keep an eye on whether CJ Stokes and Davis Warren will go into the portal. I would think Kalel Mullings might stay in the backfield as HB.

Alex Orji has the potential to become a good backup QB to JJ.

Let's see what kind of talent/skill Cole Cabana brings to the RB as a true freshman in 2023.

Warren leaving would be brutal. You have to have a solid #2 and Orji isn't that...not yet. It would just be a million QB runs.

Cabana could play in the slot some (ala Henning) as well. I think he's a weapon at RB.

I agree on Mullings...I won't do it until we see the CFP, but I think he's going to be the power back, we WON'T take that potential transfer power back...and we'll role with Colson, Barrett, NHG, and Rolder at LB.

You missed the part where I said "If they win the title".  That's how they both go.  Nothing left to compete for at Michigan after that.  The only reason to stay at this point is to win the natty.  If Michigan doesn't win, then one may stay, but I highly doubt both stay.

It's going to be difficult. But I could see a Will Johnson/Gemon Green situation with Sabb/Morant for that backup safety spot behind Paige.

Morant the backup early, and 2/3 into the season, Sabb is that third safety.

Glad he got some run this year. Wasn't always pretty, but an opportunity to get out there and get your feet wet.

Too bad thought he looked good when he got a chance to play, I suppose with Benny in the same class and with mason graham and Kenneth Grant in the class after writing was on the wall.  He was a Don Brown anchor and was a close recruitment with Penn st.

Based on the little I've read in the defense UFRs this seems mildly unfortunate. His career arc looked OK at this early stage. He must not like the idea of playing behind Benny and Graham the next couple of years.
