Good thing we have a bunch of elite corners and defensive tackles committed to right the ship.

This staff is a joke.

What pitch could any coach give at this point? “Come to Michigan where we haven’t been able to win the only game that actually matters in 8 years and the fans will hate you for it after it grows to 12.”

I hope your trying to be funny. Have you looked at OSU's 2020 and 2021 classes ?  We're not on the same planet.  Their 2020 class will finish top 5 again and their 2021 class is shaping up to be a top 2 or 3 OSU all-timer.  Sorry, but this should have been our year as we were picked by the majority because of our returning experience.

We have neither the talent nor the coaching to play a whole game with OSU.  Fields is better than Shea and we have no one with the talent to compare to Dobbins.

The first few series for both teams today were effective, but their bodies are simply better than ours and this season they made fewer mistakes that matter.

Beyond fandom, there is reality and the reality is that OSU is simply better in most phases of the game.  A botched extra point, a fumble and an off-sides penalty on 3rd and long, all in the early phases of the game, tells the story of the game.

It was amazing to see in person how much bigger, stronger, and faster the buckeyes are at almost every position.  It allows them to be completely disciplined because they don’t need to do anything out of the ordinary to make a play.  They look like a championship level team physically.  Not sure how their coaching will hold up in the playoffs though.

The interior defensive line got pushed downfield all day.

Where are the big bodies like Bryan Mone you NEED every year? Michigan has NONE.

If it goes openly semi-pro, don't be surprised when everything flips on it's head and today's blue blood and elite programs become tomorrow's dregs. No guarantees our organization has any idea how to function as a professional football organization with paid employees instead of 'kids.' The foundations everything is built off today could have a ton less meaning and it will be critical to establish something new to build off.

We already pay players you dumbass... schools like osu do it to a higher extreme.

Michigan will mist likely never do it to the extent of Clemson or osu so if you intend michigan to ever compete you need to find someone else to root for.

We have to move on from JH. Recruits need a fresh face and message. JH has nothing to offer that is new. In fact, the field results are now working against him in dramatic fashion.

When Michigan hired Harbaugh, I would’ve wagered everything I own that he wouldn’t start 0-5 against OSU. We were predicting he would put Meyer into retirement and become a perennial playoff contender.

I don’t think he should be fired, but damn, we expected more. He has had success against less talented teams, but we thought his specialty was beating more talented teams. 2016 was his best season and it was with Hoke’s players.

Five years in and we are still waiting for the program defining win. Unfortunately it can only come against OSU. Our saving grace is in a couple of years players will be able to make money off of their fans and that should elevate us to compete with OSU. Until then it has become an annual letdown.

I'm with you. I was so hyped when JH announced his hire. I figured we'd enter a new 10 yr war at a minimum. Sadly this isn't the case and what's even more depressing is that there's no answer with the current leadership. We're falling further behind once again. The recruiting trail is the canary in the coal mine. We can either hang on to hope Harbaugh eternal or get ahead of the signs and juice the kids with a fresh face and new possibilities.

We were predicting he would put Meyer into retirement and become a perennial playoff contender.

This is where you erred. I didn't think he would go 0-5 (but I also feel we won in 2016), but I also didn't think he would instantly catapult us to OSU's level. His comments about academics while at Stanford should have been a clear warning for the fans to temper their expectations.

We landed Dax Hill and it was a giant victory for us. OSU has an entire secondary of Dax Hills.

For the last two decades the disparity between the top teams in college football and the next tier down has grown and grown to the point where something has to be done about parity. With all of the camps and recruiting data out there a player who runs a sub-4.4 is known nationally and the top tier teams have been hoarding them.

The NIL rights has become necessary not just because players are being exploited. The NCAA has to do something to create greater parity. Most OSU fans only watch the Michigan and Penn State games in the regular season, and then if there's a marquee non-conference game they watch it or if they play Wisconsin. In the postseason, most don't even watch if it's not the playoffs. A lack of parity hurts the top tier teams just as much as the rest because no one cares. I know people who have thousands of dollars in OSU gear and trinkets and whatnot and they only watch 3-4 games a year and only know a few key players on the team.

This is why the basketball tournament rakes in all the NCAA's cash. The unpredictability draws in viewers and makes people care. Although Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina are perennially viewed as having the best odds to win each year, it's not a surprise when none of them are in the Elite Eight. That's how football should be.

I guess, like everyone tonight, I'm rambling and need to go to bed. Anyway, I remain optimistic about the future. It might be irrational, but that's sports.

I’m starting to learn that my expectations for Michigan are too high. I expect us to be able to compete with top teams, but I’ve learned that the majority of our fan base doesn’t really care, and our coaches don’t. It’s moral victory above all else, so I guess we are the victors today lol. It’s a hard pill to swallow but I guess we never were what I thought we were. Might as well be Indiana or some shit. I’m drunk and haven’t read other people’s post but I already predict either “Fire Harbaugh” or “OSU Cheats!”. Either way it doesn’t fucking matter. We’re not what I though Michigan was. Kind of sad really.

This is reality and you have to deal with it. Everything being equal, an objective recruit whose primary objective is to make millions in the NFL is going to go to OSU over M. Not only that, but Ohio has better football players than Michigan, and they're the only school in their state.

If you have a way to change that, let us know. Other than your classic pixie dream coach which doesn't exist and has never existed.

As several have pointed out, their athletes were just far more athletic.

this is the problem in CFB. The schools willing to cut corners to win at all costs will compete with each other (Osu, bama, Clemson, LSU). There is no parity in CFB anymore. The only hope is that once schools are allowed to find ways to get players paid, osu will be able to pay the same amount of players on the field as Michigan. We will all be playing by the same rules then

The sarcasm is warranted here.... illustrates a point on the DT and CB recruiting.... although we do have Hinton.. He will start every game going forward.  Now we need one more.. maybe they'll finally realize this after being buzzsawed up the middle by Wisconsin and OSU, and get one off the transfer portal.. still shocked they didn't, after we lost Solomon...when I saw they got Danna, I thought, "ok, great but need a DT or two".  Jeter will wash out, and was horrible this year.  Dwumfour and Kemp seem undersized. Paye to me, is small.  Hinton and Hutchinson looked properly sized.

Our CBs are average... Thomas might be fast but too often undisciplined.  It is our safety play is just bad.. Metellus is a liability..... I hoped Brown would keep Metellus back all game, but he didn't, and it was over.

Harbaugh went all in on Brown and now we are stuck with an unsound defense.
