Good omen ahead of tonight’s big twin bill!
Yesterday afternoon, on the eve of our huge hoops/hockey twin bill tonight, my wife and I are at the neighborhood park in Charlottesville VA (daughter is M alum; son-in-law is double UVA alum) with our 18 month old grandson. Grandson, dressed by mom, is wearing an M shirt. Beautiful day, sunny, mid-60’s.
Nice lady walks by with golden doodle. Both dog and grandson want to meet each other. She comes over and my wife asks, “what is his name?” The lady replies, “Cooper.”
Immediately, my Maize and Blue brain understands the significance of the date, February 10, and Cooper! If it was 2001, it would be perfect, but it was so cool even without that tie being in there!
Good omen!! GO BLUE!!

Hey, OP, there's also a big lacrosse match down there today, my sources inform me.

Are you referring to John Cooper day (2/10/2001) or the Cooper Tire layoffs affecting 22 tire plants across the US?

Every February 10 is John Cooper Day. And next January 3 will be Ryan Day.

We love OSU's coach! He's ours and you better keep your dirty filthy hands off of him.

There will not be any RR or Hoke days! Cooper Day reminds us of how successful Michigan was against coach cooper. I have a feeling we are seeing a repeat with Day!

I know about lacrosse game! Can’t convince them to go, even though it’s another beautiful, though cooler, day. Grandson’s nap time is 11:30 am. Game is at noon. Oh, well.

It’s nice to see respect for, and discipline on sleep schedule!

You're not allowed to be out on your own?

I mean, good point, but people complimenting “respect for” and “discipline on” a “sleep schedule”?
Must be a millennial

Help an old guy out here—what's the significance?

In Europe, yesterday's date of February 10 is expressed as 10/2. 10/2 is of course where you should always keep your hands on the steering wheel while driving, while also using good Cooper tires. Road safety is very important.

New pursuit driving courses are teaching that 4 and 8 is more effective while utilizing shuffle steering.
February 11th, 2023 at 1:37 PM ^
4 and 8 position is considered superior to 10 and 2 in cars with airbags. 10 and 2 position places drivers at greater risk of injury with airbag activation, due to hands and arms becoming projectile objects. 3 and 9 is a safe compromise. Shuffle steering keeps hands and arms from crossing the airbag deployment path, so it is considered best.

Wait, so if I have to “shuffle” doesn’t that mean I’m driving with my feet or, alternatively, playing cards? Doesn’t seem safe, I’ll take my chances with 3-9 and the airbags

It's John Cooper's record against us, 2-10-1, immortalized in calendar form.

Wish that I had memory enough to know what the f you're on about. Got lots of ROM, as they used to say, not a lotta RAM.

Doesn't our continuing focus on John Cooper take away a little from the credit Michigan's teams deserve for all those wins over OSU in the 90s? I like to think we won them more than they lost them

What’s Jim Harbaugh have to do to get a Day in this place?
