Well..according to all the experts USC at three losses deserves a look too then right!?? Resume has to stand for something. Don't get me wrong...I'd love to see us in there..but I don't ever get the sense anyone ever wants to do us or Harbaugh any favors. (See OSU game...any ESPN segment).

I'd look at the full body of work and the conference titles would be meaningless. I'd look at them as an extra scheduled game and judge them like any other.

If we had beaten Iowa, we'd be in regardless of yesterday. That we lost and the way we lost is why I think we don't end up in the playoff. But if the committee sees it otherwise, I won't argue!

Michigan and Ohio State are very clearly the two best teams in the B1G, yet neither is playing in the championship game. They have to sit back and hope that things play out in their favor. The B1G champion very well may end up in the playoff, and if so, it's only because of overweighting a conference champion.

I Don't think Michigan will make the playoffs this year.. However if it is truly about picking the 4 best teams as they claim, then yes we should be in. OSU didn't win their division and everyone expects them to go. There shouldn't be any rules for putting in too many teams from one conference. This isn't little league, where we have to be fair to everyone.. And not all conferences should be treated equal, if michigan were in the Big12 for example they would be undefeated. I don't believe a big12 champ, or a PSU, or Wisky, that we beat head to head should get in over us.

There is definatley still a chance, we need to hope and pray that Colorado beats Washington in the P12 championship. In that case here's what you got in terms of CFP rankings... 1. Alabama 2. Ohio State 3. Clemson 4. ??? The 4 spot will be decided between Michigan (head-to-head over UW and CU) Wisconsin (B10 Champs, heading to Rose Colorado (P12 Champs, heading to Rose) Washington (At-large bid for NY6) In my eyes the way the CFP committee has been factoring in the fact that we have beaten 3 top-9 teams (2 conf-champs) (scenario) and has been very high on us. Why would they leave us out? Especially with the possibility of having an OSU-UM rematch (imagine the ratings) (please god!!!) All im saying is if the CFP committee really believes in putting in the 4 BEST TEAMS.. No doubt the Final Rankings would be.. 1. Alabama 2. Ohio State 3. Clemson 4. Michigan

The Michigan osu game needs to be changed from being the final game of the season or it's going to hurt one or the other team every year. Early losses can be overcome. Losing the last week of the season is a nail in the coffin for playoff contention. Until they raise it to 8 teams it's going to do nothing but hinder the losing team.

We'll see what happens on Tuesday, but I'm guessing Ohio State is still #2 (hard to rank them lower when they "won" a game against the #3 team)

However, this puts the CFP in a weird spot with the Big Ten championship winner.  So the play-offs will be:  Alabama, Ohio State, Big Ten Championship Winner, Probably Clemson.

The NY6 will then be:

Western Michigan, Big Ten Championship loser (Rose Bowl), PAC12 Champ, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State (pay-back for not putting the Big 12 champ in the CFP), PAC12 loser (the CFP needs to compensate for passing-up on PAC12 for the last two years), Florida (ESPN sort of likes SEC teams), and probably VA-Tech (compensating for one-bid ACC team in CFP).

Michigan woud not go back to the Citrus/Wild Wings Bowl (since we won that last year...guessing this bid goes to Nebraska, since they travel well), so that leaves us with the Outback bowl...

The BTCG winner is not necessarily getting into the playoff. In fact, if both Clemson and Washington win, I pretty much guarantee they won't. It'll be bama, OSU, Clemson, Washington in that case.

Of the three main criteria: SOR, championships, and head to head, michigan holds 2/3 over both wisc and PSU. You could easily make the argument that if Colorado wins theP12CG, we should take the 4th spot.

It won't.  We are all doing the exact same thing we did in 2006 . . . . convince ourselves that we will be voted in despite losing to Ohio State.  And there was lots of media buzz in our favor to feed the fire, just like we are starting to see now.

But when the votes were actually counted, we were left out.

Michigan shouldn't be in the CFP. Honestly guys, we lost against Iowa. You cannot lose to a team like that and be considered one of the best in the country. I could see if the lose would have came without Speight or something, but we were 100%. No excuses.

This feels so much like 2006. Both teams going into game high enough to be in playoff. Three point MI loss. Big influence at the end of the game by a refs decision. I expect MI to be ranked 5, one of the teams above them to lose, but MI gets jumped and is left out.

Michigan very well could be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the country but odds are we will be left out of the playoffs and be passed up by inferior teams. Oh well this current playoff system is the BCS plus two and IMO will leave out teams worthy to challenge for the national championship. Last year I thought OSU was the second best team in the country and they were left out by a fluky MSU team, which got destroyed by Alabama.

I would love to see all conference champions be left out. Bama loses. Clemson loses. PSU loses. Washington loses. The committee ignore conference championship and pick 4 teams among AL, M, OSU, Washington and Clemson. That would put the whole playoff into another debate that would create chaos. I love chaos and I am rooting for one.

I think they are a top 4 team but they will be never get voted in. Would require taking us over the B1G champ or taking three B1G teams. Neither is going to happen.

we may well be at 5 and may drop to 6 after the all the conference championship games. Sucks that we have such a good team and are on the outside looking in. I wonder if PSU wins if they will be left out provided that Clemson and Washington win their conference and remain with 1 loss?

Michigan lost two games this year on the final play.
In both of those games Michigan's defense played great, and well enough to win. But the Michigan offense screwed it up and played poorly. You cannot commit 3 stupid turnovers and then expect to beat shitty teams on the road, let alone good, talented ones.

As for all of the "we'll get me next year!", that's horseshit. Ohio State is the youngest and least experienced teams in the nation, and one of the most talented. They return everyone next year, and possibly JT Barrett too (RS Jr).
Meanwhile Michigan's DL, OL and secondary will be gutted.
Highly unlikely guys.
This is why Harbaugh is so pissed. He knows.
It's not registering for some of us here, but Urban Meyer just coached 44 freshman to an 11-1 fucking record. Let that one sink in.
Yeah, I'm drunk.
