Get #firepetitti going on social media?

I'm a social media nobody with almost no followers...

But i think a primary Team UM goal this week as we await Friday's hearing (aside - I'm certain the week will feel like it's 15 days long...) should be to get some momentum behind the #firepetitti tag.

I've seen it a lot around here..., but we're a fairly confined and homogeneous audience., but only sparsely on twitter.

Any chance the UM insider / influencers / media could get broader (supportive) national media and key influential alum on board to include that tag in every (enough) posts to bring some more favorable attention to Petitti's unprofessional, unfair, and unethical actions and arguable abuse of power?

If Cowherd, Eisen, Klatt (Fox), Wetzel, Orlovsky, Brady, Woodson, Desmond, Lewan, Santa(?) , etc... got beind it, maybe it could help?  I'm sure some of these folks would not participate / take a position (Klatt / Fox leadership), but who knows.

I doubt Petitti / Big Ten would reverse course - too proud for that.   But the organization around it and the breadth (if it started to trend) would hopefully give him some concern about his future.

Not sure exactly how to get that going from where i sit, but i figured I'd float the idea.  Honestly, i was surprised someone else hadn't yet.

As much as I would hate to do this I think we should try to settle this.  Let Harbaugh sit out the Maryland game and let him coach the Ohio game.  It would be better to get this behind us and better for Petitti too.  The Ohio game will be huge and I want Harbs to be there.  The PR from this has not been good.

The exec committee is a sham.  A majority of the members came from schools with an interest in the outcome.  The Northwestern member may also be biased as there has been animosity there at least going back to when Canham tried to get them to play their home games at the Big House.

We need to revisit our relationship with the B1G and we need to air out the conduct of these "member institutions".

No.  Wreck everyone and leave.

Petitti is simply an avatar. The breach of trust is not repaired by his exit.

The root of the issue is that any conference who would treat ANY of its member institutions as poorly as the B1G has treated UM lately is not worthy of a continued relationship.  The fact that UM has been a "good soldier", flagship, and one of the two biggest brands in the conference for time immemorial was not enough to get simple due process or a modicum of fairness out of the conference.  I don't think that changes with a simple change in commissioner.

I hope the rumored discussions with other conferences have been substantive, and that UM is at the very least exploring an exit strategy, rather than just posturing.

I'm confused, who is going to fire him? The people for whom he's doing their bidding? The other institutions that couldn't be happier with him trying to screw Michigan?
