Gattis leaving after year 2?
I am not big on the he said/she said rumors and all... but I thought this was interesting.
Here’s what I heard from a guy at work who has some wealthy millionaire friends around the SE mitten area, including Ann Arbor:
Josh Gattis recently had a security contractor install some stuff in his home (cameras, et al.) He specifically asked for equipment he could take with him in the event of a move.... and I quote:
“Because I’ll be out of here in 2 years anyways.”
I do believe that statement comes from his confidant belief that he’ll do a great job here, and then go on to be a head coach somewhere else. Or, if it was after the Army game and everything that entailed... perhaps there is some tension between the head coach and the young OC?
What do you think?

I went to law school, too, but I didn't learn any of that stuff.
Actually, I didn't learn anything.
So I moved on to philosophy.

University of Phoenix has a law school?
September 12th, 2019 at 10:07 PM ^
Because they have more credibility than my “crust punk friends”.
September 12th, 2019 at 10:31 PM ^
What’s the relevance of this story?
September 12th, 2019 at 10:37 PM ^
I'd say the "I have millionaire friends" is the lead in to about 50% of the posts on this blog. It's right up there with the "When I was at UM it rained a lot" as a credibility grab.
A usual, there are just some of these that people challenge. Like this one.

This offense is going to be crazy!
September 12th, 2019 at 8:48 PM ^
Let's hope a different kind of crazy than we saw against Army!
September 12th, 2019 at 9:20 PM ^
I think it was in a straight jacket :)
September 12th, 2019 at 11:37 PM ^
Underrated comment so far. I wish I had more upvotes to give.
September 12th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
33 carries with a true freshman in his second game, in a "Speed In Space" offense, that has Nico Collins, Tarik Black, a very experienced TE, and a pretty good #2 RB, yes, that's crazy.
Gone in 2 years? If Michigan loses to Wisconsin I don't care if he's gone in 2 weeks. Looking at what LSU and Maryland are doing with a new offense, and seeing what has happened in these first 2 games? Michigan better beat Wisconsin. Or hold onto your hats kids. Earth leveling gloom, despair, and agony from the fans is on the way.

This offense is crazy!

I hope this to be a confident statement but I’m having a hard time taking anyone serious on here anymore....

So it wasn't just me! Around the second quarter of the Army game I wondered why do I enjoy watching college football still at my age. What pleasure do I get from the ups and downs of the entire off-season, all the time spent reading this blog, investing my emotions into this abusive game, and then to watch this game that felt so miserable for everyone involved...
Was Army having fun? They lost. They and their fanbase must be devastated because frankly they deserved to win.
I haven't heard a single Michigan voice who enjoyed it, AND WE WON THE GAME.
Who wins then? Our bloodlusted, despicable rivals? The media?
I give up.
I am still going to watch every game, but it feels different this year. Like I won't enjoy it as much, nor will I be as crushed as normal at our first loss. It'll just be there, on the side, no longer as important as it was. I already admitted defeat during the Army game. I already accepted our loss and dealt with a season that won't probably live up to expectations.
To a perfect season, in its own right.

It's a zero sum game. It's not logical to be a fan of any zero sum game, especially when the sum is usually negative.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

If this is sarcasm we are f’ed.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
Ha, that's definitely sarcasm

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Gattis pass out at the Big House last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Posting a malicious, unsubstantiated rumor related to someone's livelihood in a public forum?
You are a bad person. Hopefully the mods will make short work of you.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:54 PM ^
Yeesh. I don’t think it’s that serious. Go hand yourself a participation trophy, while speaking only in gender neutral terms ya jabroni.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:58 PM ^
What a post! You should be ashamed.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:58 PM ^
Even if this were true, how is it surprising? A young coach trying to move up in the world. He’s probably CONFIDENT in his abilities and thinks he can parlay that in to a HC role after 2 seasons.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:05 PM ^
Other than Don Brown, no coordinator has stayed at Michigan longer than 2 years under Harbaugh. Durkin was one and done. On offense we had Fisch for 2 then Pep for another 2 before Gattis.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:06 PM ^
Someone with a considerable salary, probably living in a posh area for the city in which he resides, having security cameras installed? I am shocked, SHOCKED......
September 12th, 2019 at 9:18 PM ^
Yes but he's really frugal about it, so he plans to take them with him when he moves in 2 years.
September 12th, 2019 at 11:23 PM ^
Heck yes. Are you serious? I’d say the majority of wealthy homeowners living in a posh area have home security systems. I’d bet the Harbaugh house has a security camera system.

This bye week is really doing a number on some people.

My millionaire counter strike friends can confirm this. OP is legit.

Yes.
No.
Maybe.
Did I do it right?
Yes.
No.
Maybe.

If you really think about it 'maybe' and 'maybe not' both mean the exact same thing.
September 12th, 2019 at 10:47 PM ^
+1 Deep thought.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:31 AM ^
That thought is worth pennies on the dollar.

I think Michigan fans are insufferable and are risking cratering the program.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:16 PM ^
Such a friendly crowd. No malicious intent here, just thought it was interesting. I could probably get a screenshot of the original text conversation, but why bother.
Dudes friend owns the security company.
Some of you people need to get laid..
