Gattis leaving after year 2?

I am not big on the he said/she said rumors and all... but I thought this was interesting.

Here’s what I heard from a guy at work who has some wealthy millionaire friends around the SE mitten area, including Ann Arbor:

Josh Gattis recently had a security contractor install some stuff in his home (cameras, et al.) He specifically asked for equipment he could take with him in the event of a move.... and I quote:

“Because I’ll be out of here in 2 years anyways.”

I do believe that statement comes from his confidant belief that he’ll do a great job here, and then go on to be a head coach somewhere else. Or, if it was after the Army game and everything that entailed... perhaps there is some tension between the head coach and the young OC?

What do you think?

I'd say the "I have millionaire friends" is the lead in to about 50% of the posts on this blog. It's right up there with the "When I was at UM it rained a lot" as a credibility grab.

A usual, there are just some of these that people challenge. Like this one.

33 carries with a true freshman in his second game, in a "Speed In Space" offense, that has Nico Collins, Tarik Black, a very experienced TE, and a pretty good #2 RB, yes, that's crazy.

Gone in 2 years? If Michigan loses to Wisconsin I don't care if he's gone in 2 weeks. Looking at what LSU and Maryland are doing with a new offense, and seeing what has happened in these first 2 games? Michigan better beat Wisconsin. Or hold onto your hats kids. Earth leveling gloom, despair, and agony from the fans is on the way.

So it wasn't just me! Around the second quarter of the Army game I wondered why do I enjoy watching college football still at my age. What pleasure do I get from the ups and downs of the entire off-season, all the time spent reading this blog, investing my emotions into this abusive game, and then to watch this game that felt so miserable for everyone involved...

Was Army having fun? They lost. They and their fanbase must be devastated because frankly they deserved to win.

I haven't heard a single Michigan voice who enjoyed it, AND WE WON THE GAME.

Who wins then? Our bloodlusted, despicable rivals? The media?

I give up.

I am still going to watch every game, but it feels different this year. Like I won't enjoy it as much, nor will I be as crushed as normal at our first loss. It'll just be there, on the side, no longer as important as it was. I already admitted defeat during the Army game. I already accepted our loss and dealt with a season that won't probably live up to expectations.

To a perfect season, in its own right.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Gattis pass out at the Big House last night.  I guess it's pretty serious.

Posting a malicious, unsubstantiated rumor related to someone's livelihood in a public forum?

You are a bad person. Hopefully the mods will make short work of you.

Even if this were true, how is it surprising? A young coach trying to move up in the world. He’s probably CONFIDENT in his abilities and thinks he can parlay that in to a HC role after 2 seasons.

Other than Don Brown, no coordinator has stayed at Michigan longer than 2 years under Harbaugh. Durkin was one and done. On offense we had Fisch for 2 then Pep for another 2 before Gattis.

Such a friendly crowd. No malicious intent here, just thought it was interesting. I could probably get a screenshot of the original text conversation, but why bother.

Dudes friend owns the security company.

Some of you people need to get laid..
