Wow! I did a shallow dive on IU vs. Michigan overall. It took covid for Indiana to get to double digit wins against Michigan, snapping a 24-game losing streak in 2010. Michigan holds a 60-10 overall record. Imagine if there was a trophy attached to this game, like an old brass spittoon or something like that. IU would only know what it looks like from watching Michigan hoist it, again, after the game. Here are some other interesting stats about our illustrious foe:
- Overall record of 502-698-44 for a .412 win%. That's good for 122nd out of 131 teams.
- They've made 13 bowl games and won 2 conference titles (of course Notre Dame has NEVER won a conference championship - such futility)
- They've spent a total of 67 weeks ranked in the AP poll compared to 892 weeks for the Maize and Blue
- They've done well against the B1G newcomers, holding a 22-15-3 all-time record against Rutger, Nebraska and Maryland. They're under .500 against the rest of the B1G.
Despite all this, they still manage to scare the bejeebers out of Michigan fans with tough, hard fought games. I'd be happy to see Michigan jump out to a 21-0 1st quarter lead and cruise from there, saving me the stress on my heart.
