Michigan currently with 9:43 left. Matthews has looked great so far, 4/5 on offense with a 3 and another jumper and a couple nice drives.

A bunch of people playing early. Z started at point and everyone except Davis and Poole has gotten in so far.

Wagner hasn't been great but not worried about that. Teske looks a lot better, very active and some good passes. Watson has made a couple nice jumpers but he's struggling on D.

33-15 at the under 8, a couple FTs for Matthews coming up. Matthews looks awesome, Simpson, Teske and Watson all look much improved on offense. Potential is beinh flashed all around.

While I sit here with my Jack-Coke, I've been doing some thinking and this is quite random but all of you guys know me and how off the wall I can be. I see the cheaters are playing in Iowa City tomorrow at 3:30. So I think back last year to that sickening game and how crazy that idiot crowd was along with the terrible refs. Every team it seems wants to play Michigan in a night game because it draws attention to their program. Michigan gets great ratings no matter who they play. I seriously think from now on that the team and Jim shouldn't agree to any night games. They can call the team chicken shit or whatever they want but to hell with it. Stick with the day games as it's always been and don't let a team intimidate the candy ass refs with their obnoxious screams or be able to swing the momentum with a stadium full of tuned up clowns sneaking their flasks inside. No more playing night games in Iowa City or Happey Sick Valley. I bet Wisconsin wanted a night game but thankfully Michigan said to hell with it. That place would be just as bad as the other two. If you guys want night games, just have them in the Big House. Fuck the other losers in the conference and what they want. The Victors bow to no one.

43-21 with 2:31 left in the first. At times we look great but we've hit some stretches where we look confused and honestly a bit lazy. Mo looks very off today. He needs to limit these types of games in the regular season. Simpson air balled a 3 so the shot may still be an issue. FTs, turnovers and a few long rebounds off missed 3s have been problems so far as well.

looks like it will probably be an issue. Obviously its just one exhibition game and GVSU has been clanging shots badly resulting in awkward/long rebounds, but the Lakers have 9 O-rebounds at half. Gonna need Duncan to step up on the glass this year.

Mentioned that below but a lot of that is because of long shots due to contested jumpers as you said. If it persists all year that could be an issue, but they've missed a ton of shots so eventually they'll get some boards. Work can be done to clean that issue up (boxing out especially), but if that's the D's biggest issue long term that's a huge win.

45-21 Michigan at the break.

-Matthews looks great. Offensively he's hit a 3, a mid range jumper, had a couple nice drives to the hoop and a nice back cut. He's also grabbed a bunch of boards and showed some nice vision as well. He looks like the real deal so far.

-Wagner looks off. Slow, missing open jumpers, lazy with the ball a few times. Obviously not worried about him, but these types of games need to be minimized come B1G play. He has drawn 2 charges though.

-MAAR has been pretty much a non factor so far. He hasn't had to do much of anything on offense.

-Duncan is doing Duncan things. Hitting 3's and playing questionable defense.

-The sophomore class looks muched improved. Davis hasn't played much but Simpson looks like the #1 option at point and has played a lot more than Simmons. The jumper still isn't there but the vision looks to be and he's a lot more aggressive, had one tough finish at the hoop go down. Watson hit a 3 and a nice pull up J before being taken out due to foul trouble (defense with him looks to be an issue). Teske hasn't looked to score but the ball has moved through him well down low and the D/rebounding has been solid.

-Implied above but Simmons is behind Simpson right now. He had a couple good passes while he was in but not much else of note.

-Freshman class has been quiet so far. Don't remember Poole playing, Livers played but didn't do much. Brooks has played the most and looked the best, had a nice alley-oop pass to Matthews that put Matthews on the line, but still looks like a freshman.

-Overal team D looks good. Hard to say how much is GVSU and how much is us, but most of their offense has been contested or pull up jumpers with a guy hounding the shooter. They've gotten a ton of offensive rebounds, but most of those are long ones due to taking a lot of contested jumpers. It's something you can live with for sure. Can't say anything definitive about the D, but it's a promising start. Post D and Robinson/Watson are probably going to be the biggest reason the D struggles if it does.

-As a whole team as looked sluggish at times. Turnovers have been a problem, and a ton of missed FTs (Matthews 2/5, Duncan 2/3, Brooks 0/2).

All in all very happy so far. Young/new guys have all been flashing talent and you can see it getting close to being all there. A lot of these issues seem to be first game/youth issues, so long term not too worriesome.

With 14 left. Sloppy play continues. D looked rough to start the half minus a nice Matthews block but got better quick. Starters couldn't do much out there, only highlight a Duncan 3 so with 16:30 a line change happened and a whole new 5 were put on the court. Simmons had a nice lay-in and Brooks hit a 3 as well. Most of the sloppiness is just us looking a step slow. Some nice fast break chances and back cuts weren't converted, but in a couple months those will be points.

pinot noir to be specific.  grilling burgers, which might not be the fanciest thing in the world but i will admit to be very partial to our cattle, they are grass fed, no chemical/vaccines, etc. and i think their flavor is out of this world.

heading to AA tomorrow.  go blue!

but by the cow - lots of folks buy from us combine their orders, i.e,, 1/2 cow + 1/2 cow and go in together.  we also do our own butchering. i 've taught the kids how to do that and a good friend has a USDA licensed facility that he lets us use so our finished product looks just like your supermarket beef (but without the chemicals or GMO grain) and its packaged in as clean of a facility as you can find.  and yeah, we custom cut our beef and lamb to your order.

Simpson subbed in for Simmons meant for a short period all players were first or second year guys. Now the whole first unit is back in. Brooks hit another nice jumper while he was in.

Brooks subbed in for Simpson so he'll get his first look at PG. Matthews not finishing as well this half either. A couple misses around the rim.

FAU vs Marshall game is FANTASTIC. Anyone else watching? Thought it would be boring, very far from it. Lane Kiffin is a prick, rooting for Marshall.

With 7:24 left. Matthews hit another FT line mid range shot and has made a couple nice passes again. Can't get over how good he's looked. MAAR still struggling but Wagner just hit his first 3. Still no Poole (assuming a suspension or injury?) but Brooks has gotten extended playing time and looked good doing it. Some real good ball movement leading to open shots that haven't fallen. Those will start to go down eventually.
