Friday BBQ, Beverage + 5 Questions For You Thread

HTTV came today.  I’ll drink to that. 

Started early. Tri tip. Sous vided it for 4 hours. Seared on bbq. Still came out tough, dang it. But tastes good. 

No adult beverages because I tend to post angry thoughts when liquored up.

1. Dolphin- because they're smart and get to play in the ocean all day. Also, no one ever suspects the dolphin 

2. The most difficult thing I've done, that I'll share with the board, is climbing the highest peak in NM (Wheeler). I hadn't been living here too long and grew up at sea level, so the altitude totally kicked my butt. So happy to have done it, especially since the last couple hours I wanted to do nothing else but turn around and go back down the mountain. 

3. I'd like to go with the Todd Collins or Chad Henne role here: back-up QB who mostly holds a clipboard.

Before answering these very scientific questions, I want to apologize to DT76 for my response to his post last night. I erroneously believed he was making a political statement. My sincere apology, DT. If you are reading this thread, I'm e-buying you a canned cocktail tonight.

Now to the questions:

Eating grilled turkey burgers (less heavy in this weather) and then sipping some vodka and soda w/ lime. Need to stay hydrated.

1. Definitely something that could fly because that would be awesome. But also something that isn't game, because I really don't want to be shot at. Maybe a seagull? or a Hawk?

2. Writing and defending the dissertation. I had a job lined up that required I defend before I begin. I had to stay disciplined almost every day for about 6 months. I'm not a very disciplined person by nature.

3. What could be better than playing DE and feasting on QBs?

4. Does Mel Brooks count?

5. It's my last Friday of the summer. Damn, where did the time go.

Not sure on food or drink yet. May be a smoke by the fire pit later.

Having a La Croix while playing in my backyard with my 3 month old Labradoodle, Seamus Heaney. And also getting ready to take my kids to the lake tomorrow. The chilly breeze today is a nice reminder that fall is right around the corner.

2. I am currently facing the hardest challenge of my life. You know more about it than anyone else on mgoblog. I apologize for any outbursts past, present or future here, as my emotions have gotten the best of me on more than one occasion. I love all of you (even those of you that I don't like).

If it were based on talent, I'd be a placekicker since that was my best position back in the day.  Otherwise, a jumbo WR.

It better actually be Friday this time or heads are going to roll.

1. Cat because they do whatever the hell they want and aren't constrained by what people think about them. 

2. Probably quitting smoking. Second, parenting teenagers. 

3. I have a defensive mentality so somewhere on the defense if I was a foot taller and 150 pounds heavier. I like the idea of having to stop someone as opposed to being stopped. 

4. Zach Galifianakis. He would keep things interesting.

Nothing on the grill tonight. Poke bowls (our youngest's favorite) to celebrate making the high school tennis team. Probably sipping some Iron Fish Bourbon (Thompsonville, MI) later tonight and grilling some steaks tomorrow night.

1) Eagle - because we're about to have three Eagle Scouts in the family: me, oldest son (UM sophomore) and youngest son (working on his Eagle Scout Service Project).

2) Ironman Wisconsin as the hardest physical challenge. Cancer survivor as a lifetime achievement. I really enjoyed running laps in Camp Randall wearing my Michigan gear.

3) Played OL and LB in high school. I'd go with LB if given the athletic ability to play at a higher level unless I had the chance to be on a Joe Moore Award winning OL at Michigan.

4) Gary Gulman - his state abbreviation bit is classic but as someone named Scott, I get to be Zorro in this number about the @ symbol.

5) A day where I'm a little better than yesterday but not quite as good as I'll be tomorrow.

In Hoboken tonight, so will be going out for dinner with my wife sometime soon. We visited the World Trade Center Museum and Memorial today. I highly recommend it. It's a very powerful experience.

1) Animal?...A squirrel. The only animal that eats a buckeye and can shit them out without any ill effects of their poison.

4) Trick question. Deserted Island? Are you trying to get us banned? Do a google search. Unless that "Deserted Island" has high speed internet and fully charged iPads...Reilly is a comedian and a bartender to boot.
