Ugh :(
October 21st, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
I guess I'll just take your word for it, OP.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
Some wealthy group of people should sponsor the coach sponsorship to the point where you have to get to page 3 of the press release to even read the name of anybody who matters to the story.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
At that point will people still complain that “this shouldn’t be happening in year X at that salary!!!” — even though it will be completely paid by the sponsorship?

.
.
...of course they will.

for fuck's sake
October 21st, 2019 at 5:35 PM ^
Hey calm down guy's. It's just two injuries ( John's, Wagner). MSU played all of last season with their ENTIRE roster decimated with injuries. Just ask them.
October 21st, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
Hate to say it but States roster last year was WAY better and more talented than our roster this year even without Langford and the other injuries. We have a lot of question marks going into the season even if Wagner and Johns were not injured. It’s fine though because it is Juwan Howard’s first year as our coach so we should be a bubble team and that is not a problem.
October 21st, 2019 at 7:13 PM ^
who was drafted by the nba off that sparty team this summer again?
October 22nd, 2019 at 1:34 AM ^
So getting drafted into the NBA is a measure of how good a college team is now?? Cassius Winston may be the best player in college basketball this year and he probably wouldn’t have been drafted if he entered the draft after last season.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
Speedy and complete recovery!
October 21st, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
When did you talk to Juwan about this nonsense?
October 21st, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
So he’ll be back before the B1G opener in December. Maybe earlier than that if it’s 4 weeks.
October 21st, 2019 at 5:17 PM ^
True, but he'll miss practice time and developing chemistry with teammates, who are breaking in a couple of new starters and learning a new system.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Bummer, so he could be back for the Iowa State and Louisville game. Not the worst news since they can still be 4-0 without him to that point. Just sucks for development as a freshmen.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:14 PM ^
Living right across the river from Louisville, KY, I really hope he returns for that game. Oh, how I hate UofL basketball....
October 21st, 2019 at 5:28 PM ^

Is his Mom OK?

Sounds about right.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
BPONE has no days off.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
Well, that's a kick right in the nads from the BPONE perspective...
I'm starting to think the entire athletic division of U of M is snakebit.
October 21st, 2019 at 5:38 PM ^
When it comes to basketball for me, BPONE is impotent.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
Maybe that's why we're unranked...the rankers knew...WHO'S LEAKING MEDICAL INFORMATION?!?!
October 21st, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
I love Michigan sports. They make me so happy.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
Next man up!
October 21st, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
Jesus H. Christ......
Two injuries to the team even before game 1. Whatever we did to deserve these last few years as Michigan sports fans, we're really sorry.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^
2017 B1G Tournament Champions
2018 B1G Tournament Champions
2018 Final Four
back to back 30 wins seasons for the first time ever
Hockey made the Frozen Four the same weekend Basketball made the Final Four.
21 B1G Championship across all sports the last 2 seasons. Named best in college sports by CBS after Baseball went to the World Series.
Time to stop letting the football program’s failures overshadow everything.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:51 PM ^
Yea, I know we've had some unexpected successes but all of those ended in no championship. In fact, I'd say the stuff you listed only proves my point more.
But you aren't wrong that the game this weekend didn't help my psyche with this news.
October 21st, 2019 at 5:03 PM ^
You must’ve literally missed the part where I said Michigan has brought home 21 B1G CHAMPIONSHIPS during the last two seasons.
October 21st, 2019 at 5:03 PM ^
Don't be that guy. The Final Four/Frozen Four/College World Series are all epic accomplishments.
If you're literally demanding national titles to be happy, you're not going to be happy much.
October 21st, 2019 at 5:17 PM ^
Nah, wasn't suggesting that. In particular the run last year with the baseball team was amazing. Merely saying that it would be nice if just ONE of those went our way, like it would be nice if we could make it to game one without an injury, in particular with this year's team that could be offensively challenged.
October 21st, 2019 at 5:26 PM ^
Last year's team was offensively challenged.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
More roughhousing like the football team?
October 21st, 2019 at 4:12 PM ^
Glad I started the thread about starters/rotation because since then we've lost two potential starters for a period of time.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:28 PM ^
To quote The Children of Yost, “It’s all your fault! It’s all your fault! It’s all your fault!”

Mondays and BPONE.
UGH!

Right wrist too. Not ideal for a righty and a outside shooter.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:18 PM ^
So the Gods of college sports were talking the other day and the football god said "Since we all agree that we hate Michigan sports more than anything on earth I have decided to have all the best players from the midwest attend Ohio State, have the best coaches coach there and just to make sure their hearts are broken I've made it so their league's commissioner assign only officials who dislike them as much as we do to their games."
The basketball God heard this and said "That's nothing. I'm going to have their well-loved and universally respected coach leave suddenly for the crappiest NBA team in existence and then let them replace him with a young and upcoming alum who seems to be recruiting even better than the coach he replaced."
The football God heard this and said "how is that going to hurt them? Remember, we all hate Michigan and have agreed to do all the things a God can do to make them lose. Sounds to me like you're not trying hard enough."
The basketball God responded. "I'll make sure all the good players get injured."
October 21st, 2019 at 4:19 PM ^
If Johns is out too for any significant period of time, big impact on our season outlook. Sometimes you just get the injury bug
October 21st, 2019 at 6:39 PM ^
I would think Castleton would be just as good as Johns.
October 21st, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
Is the athletic campus built on an ancient Indian burial ground??? Jesus Christ
October 21st, 2019 at 4:32 PM ^
The pitbull banner got the athletic year off on the wrong foot. We may never recover from it.

bald-headed weasel...

October 21st, 2019 at 9:44 PM ^
no closed season.
no bag limit.
October 21st, 2019 at 11:51 PM ^
The weasel being discussed doesn't appear to have much of a pelt (if any). Probably not worth much, huh?
October 21st, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
Juwan clearly didn't get the memo on reporting injuries to Michigan student athletes.....
'Franz is working through something, he got a little dinged up and we don't expect him to be out long term'
