Football Is Back!

Submitted by turtleboy on

This is the annual Football-Has-Begun-But-Nobody-Created-A-Thread Thread. The Detroit Lions are taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Gotham City's stadium, for some strange reason (they've fixed it up rather nicely) and tonight we see the professional debut of one Jake Rudock at qb and Graham Glasgow. Scoreless most of the way through the 1st quarter, and well into the 2nd string.

Discuss actual football..

JR looks confident, relaxed and is making a strong case for #2!  I don't think I've ever seen a rookie execute like he does there's a bit of Tom Brady automation in him.

Who comes into a college program, year 1, takes a grad transfer QB, retools him so that he sets all kinds of records and launches that player after a single year of coaching into the NFL?

Indians only have one more AB to go, but I have full confidence they can still outscore the the Josh McCown or Austin Davis led Browns.

Terrelle Pryor is their leading receiver.  My mind wanted to read Braxton Miller.  Harbaugh has  done just as much for one QB's pro career in one year (Rudock) as OSU since 2000 (Troy Smith).

Seeing what Harbaugh was able to do in elevating Rudock's game over the course of a year really makes me wonder how Denard would have fared under Harbaugh's tutelage for a year or two. Any thoughts?
