so true. we had DeVeon just bowling guys over. They had guys stepping out of bounds 3 yards early. our QB took off and slid head first for a first down, theirs loved throwing balls out of bounds. we looked like a proverbial "blue collar", smash mouth team and they appeared to be finesse who avoided contact.

Notre Dame got blown out with 30 days practice. His mind was on Indiana and we gave up a bunch of points too. The dl was good until we lost key pieces to injury and the lbs were blah all year. I think it was more that we were facing a veteran offensive line and 1st round rb. All of this is moot now that Don Brown is here but I just wish some Michigan fans would let it go.

So your argument is that Drevno wasn't focused on the game because we only scored 13 points. We did the same against a running qb, strong rb, and great offensive line when we played Indiana. The Durkin wasn't focused is just an outlet for the people who hate him for taking the Maryland job.

what happened at the OSU/UM game was that Meyer got mad after the MSU loss and went overboard planning for us

Watch what U Meyer does to MSU next year in EL- It won't be pretty. He is an up and down coach at times but when he is "up" and motivated he is almost unbeatable (and his downs are still pretty good)

Not just Meyer, their whole team did that. Ohio State was sleeping walking the entire season and it took losing to MSU to wake them up and play inspired football. If they had felt like it they could have done what they did to us and worse the entire season. That is a really talented football team, I think if they scrape out a win against Sparty they probably are still sleep walking heading into Ann Arbor and maybe things go differently but after that loss and especially the way they lost, they were either going to tank and start thinking about the NFL or wake up and show some pride. We saw what happened.

People were saying "I'd like to have one of those" when talking about the Bama DL.

We DO have one.

...however, I followed it up with "the problem is the 2-3 guys behind that DL...that's where there's a HUGE gap."

If we could get some LBs like Bama, we'd be in business.

Agreed, you could see, once Harris got PAST the D-Line, it was usually 20-30 yard run.

Our D-Line is going to be even better next year with Mone, Glasgow, development, and hopefully a great commit, but without some solid Linebacking play, it can be exploited.

Also, it would have been interesting to see if Peppers by himself couldn't have spied out Harris, seeing as he was playing a hybrid LB/DB position under Durkin.

This, too, will get bette but might take another year or so. Also, with how highly ranked Fl's D Line was, it does not surprise me their counterparts on the OL would lend a hand to their mates to help explain domination on both sides of the ball. No one is supposed to do to FL what we did today offensively and does any OL really want to admit just how poortly they played?
