A few photos from Michigan vs Western Michigan 9/8/18

Submitted by jaspersail on

No field pass (or long lenses), but I took some photos from the stands yesterday. Was pretty happy with how they came out, so figured I'd share them here. Posting photos appears to be even more difficult than on the old site, so maybe this won't work, but here goes nothing.

Did partial Black & White edits on a couple--the Bush photo and McCurry's dive to the pylon.

I have some long lenses that I use for wildlife photography, but since Michigan only allows lenses under 6 inches at athletic events, I use a Nikon 18-300mm zoom. It's just under 6 inches (hey, size isn't everything), so I can bring it into Michigan Stadium, Crisler, the soccer stadium, Canham Natatorium, etc.

At 18mm you can get a nearly fisheye view from inside the Big House. At 300mm you can get close to the action from far away.

Not as exciting as being from the future, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

If I played for Western I would enlarge the Wilson up the middle photo and put it on that guys locker.  I know... it's mean but it's hilarious to me. Great photos man, really.
